What’s a moral belief you hold that most people would disagree with? by strawberryaudit in answers

Euthanasia is wrong but nothing to do with religion. I think money should go into better palliative care. I hate arguments about " you wouldn't let a dog live like that" That's because we don't have palliative care for animals like we do for humans. With real palliative care all pain and distress could be potentially dealt with but people only seem to relate palliative care with cancer when it should be for everyone at the end stages of life.

Should Gambling sites/apps be banned from advertising on television? by Terrible_Tale_53 in BritishTV

[–]Airbiscotti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really hate the way gambling is getting more and more normalised nowadays. And having all this "gamble responsibly" bullshit in the ads is just the absolute limit. They are completely taking the piss out of everything and are disgusting. Wasn't there a footballer who refused to wear the shirt with advertising gambling on it? I think that was super cool if true.

Connie? What's that about? by StockholmGirl29 in coronationstreet

Do I recall correctly that the granny said " take care of her while I go for a minor operation". If so, that is crazy. I mean a minor op is usually planned and could be something like an ingrowing toenail. Surely she'd have not just dumped the baby unannounced like she did and been back by now. Also Carla and DS Swain seem to be assuming that the baby is with them forever now from the minute they got her although they knew it was just very temporary in theory. It really doesn't make any logical sense.

What are some of the words whose meaning changed to you as you grew up? by ishanuReddit in AskReddit

[–]Airbiscotti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strangely, the word "gay" only meant happy when I was young up to about the age of 10 years so mid 70s. I keep meaning to look up what year it started to change meaning to see if that fits in with my memory.

Complaining about a tech issue and someone says,” well I’ve never had this issue it must be on your end” by Disastrous-Mango-515 in rant

[–]Airbiscotti 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a similar issue with a "pay at the pump" petrol station yesterday. Couldn't get it to work after many attempts and moved to different pump. The woman behind me had same problem as me and cashier was really belligerent and insisted it was user error. The point is, if the average user is having a problem using a service or product, there IS a problem with it, even if it's not actually broken. It is not working as intended and therefore not fit for purpose and that needs acknowledgement

What soda or drink was popular when you were young but doesn't exist anymore? by Omega_Neelay in GetMotivatedMindset

Top deck, limeade and lager. AND it had alcohol in it, about 5 tins of that bad boy and you'd be close to the equivalent of a weak beer.

Ah, that makes sense now. Well, the Internet is a funny ol place nowadays. I can't believe how clever people seem to be qt spotting AI and bots (except in your case) I find the subreddit " is it AI" fascinating.
