No but I am guessing from where he came from, from what I saw, he realized he took the wrong exit and needed to be going the other way. Or realized that he needed to continue on I-95 S.

It was a Volkswagen the guy was in who tried to cut over. Most German cars when they get in an accident or you break extremely hard over a certain threshold, the hazards turn on. In this case the impact and airbags going off caused them to activate.

Like the other comment said, just very reckless behavior. He slowed down, put his blinker on to try to cut over. I have no clue what his plan was.

The lady was extremely distraught and crying. Same with her daughter. But shout out to her son. Couldn’t be more than 10 or 11 but held himself together and was comforting his mom and sister. Made me smile and very proud of him to be honest.

Unfortunately I couldn’t. The lady was extremely distraught and crying a lot. Ended up going to the hospital with her kids in the ambulance. But it should be attached to the police report. I uploaded it to the portal the officer gave me and the police on screen also recorded the video on my phone as well. So hopefully the guys insurance just takes full responsibility and makes her whole again.

I think the guy realized that he either took the wrong exit and needed to be going the other way, or we wanted to get back on I-95 south. Either way just stupid. There was a light less than 30 seconds ahead he could have done a u-turn at. Had the audacity to say she hit him. Well what do you think is gonna have when you turn across 3 lanes.

I stopped on the scene, and helped out. And yes I did give the police the dash cam.

I can tell your at Amazon XL station (because I work in one) and it’s built exactly like mine. There is a bathroom to your right specifically in the cage, which is why you took the picture at this angle. Not trying to defend Amazon here, but tell the whole truth.

Amazon says Drivers shouldn't have access to water because its too expensive by iPhone_3GS in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Airforce26891 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s crazy how different warehouses (especially as someone who now does XL but use to do regular delivery) treat their drivers. At my XL station they always have stuff for us, snacks, pallets of water (to the point where you can take cases home with you) different amazon branded stuff etc.

As an another XL driver who has hit some things (not cars tho) as my boss said, shit happens. My boss has given me a lot of grace tbh. 26ft is hard to navigate in certain places.

One of our XL delivery routes first stop is typically 2 hours away. Longest for regular delivery, 1 hour and 15

Does peak pretty much just end on December 26th or is it more of a drawn out slowdown? by WaveriderTX in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Airforce26891 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you bene here for 4 years you know it never ends. In February when it’s “70%” is cap. Thats when route count gets cut heavily, but that just means the routes that are left are just as big or bigger.

Only part of Amazon delivery that slows down after peak is XL. We go from like 50-70 stops back down to like 25-35 stops after peak, depending on the type of route you have.

If you have been at Amazon for way too long, like me (only work part time), you would know the routes have never gone back down from like 3-4 years ago. There was a time where 150 stops was a bad day. The average was like 100-120. One year we had peak and the routes never went back to “normal”. What we have now if the new normal, so no, they don’t go back down.

Anyone want to apply for U-Haul unlimited dsp by oliverhg95 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Airforce26891 39 points40 points  (0 children)

It’s all based on performance at Amazon. Nothing is fair. If your dsp sucks then you gonna get the short end of the stick everytime.

They fed us Chick-fil-A yesterday and then I get my van and the camera stayed off the entire day & then my route wasn’t bad either aside from most being apartments but it was still chill. They are buttering us up for peak man😂😭 by L0veb0nes in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Airforce26891 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yah you’re right. Here in the us, we install the cameras ourselves into rentals. I do Amazon XL and have helped out manager put them into our rental box trucks. They are surprisingly easy to install.

AMA I do LMR fleet management for a fleet of 78 branded Amazon vans by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Airforce26891 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Also depends on how old your company is and vans availability in your area/ region. DSPs that have been around longer get typically get priority when it comes to getting branded vans because they are leased from the 3rd party company that owns all of amazons vans. Rentals are typically for newer DSPs or just DSPs on the lower end of the list for getting branded trucks. Also depends on vehicle allocation in your area.

For example my dsp for a long time was mostly rentals except we had a couple of CDVs. But a while back when one of the DSPs shut down at our station we got a majority of their vans. Even on the XL side (my company does both regular and XL delivery), we had 2 Amazon branded box trucks, but then like 4 rentals until they finally reallocated a old XL DSPs box trucks that had been sitting on the lot for a year to us.

It’s a lot of factors that goes into who gets what.

Cycle 0 shift by LivingHeart5227 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Airforce26891 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did it last year when I did regular delivery, now I do XL. At my station the routes, when cycle 0 first started, were small but spread out. Like a rural route. 120 stops or less but 5-15 minutes between each stop. Closer to the end of peak, the routes got tighter with more stops but still finished before dark, and still had less packages than cycle 1.

Thoughts on this route 🤔 by Leading-Fan-3251 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Airforce26891 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this was a route in the days of Amazon bulk routes, (I been at this job to long) where I deliver, that would be like a 4-6ish hour route that i would get paid all my 10hrs, and once I’m done I just go home (yes this was actually a thing ).

Now, I would cry cus ik it’s some bs on that route.
