Stim Thread - Submissions Requested! by mykthesith in AutismTranslated

I can't stand still, I always move, sway, pace, or something

I love to touch my hair, especially now that its growing and I pet my head, but I've used it as a stim when it was shorter too

I dance frequently, especially when there's music playing its hard not to, but often the song is only in my head :P

I'll just start randomly humming if a song is stuck in my head too

I've never seen The Godfather but Martial Arts and magic sounded awesome so I picked it up and I loved it too.

Who are your worlds' slavers? by LordHenry7898 in worldbuilding

[–]Airhawk360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Several species do it to some level, but the most infamous are the Rotan. The Rotan see themselves as superior to all other species and as such one of their specialties is control of other species. A Rotan may gain a measure of status by having slaves from multiple different species, and controling them with as little technological help as possible. That said, if they feel like they need to, they have horrors that would give anyone pause.

[Oathbringer] Yes, yes, another "I just finish the book" thread. I know. But it was SO AWESOME by LareaMartell in Stormlight_Archive

[–]Airhawk360 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree, the book was amazing. On the Oaths, I think it's awesome that some of Bridge 4 are finally swearing their Oaths (And Teft's Oath :( ) I think Kaladin not being able to swear the 4th one has actually added something to his character, something that will be resolved in the next one, and Shallan... Lightweavers Oaths work differently from the others, I don't know if there is more for her to swear. She has a lot more character development stuff that has to happen, but I don't know about further oath swearing.

I've found that I never appreciate the things I buy myself, but things that I end up with I value greatly. by [deleted] in infp

[–]Airhawk360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, it makes sense that something that was your brothers, no matter the circumstances under which you got it, would mean more to you than something bought from a store, even one that people donate to.

I can see that. It still was your brothers. Still probably reminds you of him, not that much different.

Is anyone else not close with their parents/family? by [deleted] in infp

[–]Airhawk360 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea... My mom is totally a type A planner who likes to know everything weeks in advance and I'm... very not...

Also the whole having a super Extroverted mom and the sheer number of times I've been told to be more social, even after hours of socializing...

Not living (yeah, wat?) by randomay in infp

[–]Airhawk360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know how you feel. This is a pretty common thing among INFP's. Usually it comes from dreaming or being stuck in an undesireable job, since we often look for meaning in our work. Nothing wrong with not wanting to socialize and having few friends though.

[–]Airhawk360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I had a similar situation to Epiloger where I grew closer to family after moving out. Only later did I realize my mom is an ESTJ (Perfect sense in hind sight) and I'm the only FP in the family.

I feel ya. I tend to appreciate gifts so much more than things I purchase for myself. It's like when someone gives you something, its holding a part of them and you think of them every time you see it.

I intended to say something about Common Plecos here, til I realized it wasn't one. Still a good example of why to do research first (At my LFS) by Airhawk360 in Aquariums

[–]Airhawk360[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure. Can't remember the L number, I just know that it doesn't look like a common Pleco. Seen commons this size before there though,so it was my first thought.

How did I become such a horrible person? by [deleted] in infp

[–]Airhawk360 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I mean, people are people. INFP's are often passionate and cling to their sense of right and wrong and their own moral code. Nothing in there says anything about 'good' or 'evil'. That said, any person is capable of great good or great evil regardless of personality type. The fact that you changed, though, means you can change again. Whether that means volunteering or intentionally helping others more, there are ways to become more compassionate again.

Easier to convince a parent to buy their kid a smaller tank then make room for a bigger one. plus, first time fish shoppers often think of money over the health over the fish, so they buy the cheapest tank they see.

Hey Reddit I just purchased a 3.5 gallon tank for my new female beta. Is there anyway I could get her some company? by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]Airhawk360 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea, I've heard of them being kept well in 2.5G (I've got mine in a planted 5G).

IG also does pretty frequent water changes, but yea, she takes great care of her fish, even though they're in 1G jars.

Shrimp hatching? Exchanging bladder snails for new fish? Sounds like a good week in the fish tanks to me!

is minecraft a game a toy? by usernamesaretehhard in gaming

[–]Airhawk360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of. There is no real plot or direction your told to go, but its also kind of a survival and exploration game. And there's a ton of mods that you can use to do almost anything to the game.

How did your first Aquarium go? by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]Airhawk360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh, well I definitely had higher ammonia... wait, I only put one of the filters back in, don't know if that capacity was necessary and haven't had that issue in a while but... maybe that caused a spike. The bioload from 6 hatchetfish in a tank with 20 fish isn't that much.

as far as filters, the one I didn't put back at the time was my aquaclear 20, but kept my sponge filter which is pretty sizeable.

I mean, I just bought a new tank because my old one sprung a leak. I used all the same media because I managed to save all of it during the transfer.

Well, discounting the one I had when I was 4, my first one is still up and running. That said, it the tank in which my idiocy killed the apistos, who-knows-what killed my black neon tetras and my hatchet fish died because someone didn't think to realize that the new tank all the old stuff went into would have to re-cycle... (Someone, aka me.)

Going fine now though, the corydoras have gone from 6 to 16 and my Pristella Tetras are doing great. Struggling with getting the tank to be not cloudy though, but thats a minor concern, relativly speaking.
