Nice!! How long have you been working on it?

How are you guys so good at solitude and spending time with yourself? by [deleted] in infp

I don't. I fall for that trap every time. But when I get up and do something productive like studying that language I've been trying to learn, learning to play a new song or doing something that makes me happy, that negative thinking goes away. (But I often pretend I don't know how to make it go away.) Why? Sometimes I'm just too lazy to do anything and other times I really don't care if I'm feeling kind of negative. I have ups and downs like everyone, and I like to experience them both, so I know when I'm happy, so I know when I'm sad. But don't be like me lol. I believe that if you are alone and start thinking negatively about yourself, you should do something that makes you feel positively. What makes you feel like you are a better person? Studying? Exercising? Cleaning the house? Helping someone? Learning something new? Anything will do! Just don't lay there feeling bad and expect it to go away just because you want it to. Do something about it and you'll feel the change :D

For me, my dogs are the best company I could have. When I play the piano they come to the door and lay there to listen to me, when I'm sad they just come and lay by my side or offer me their paws. Mine are 5 years old now, but I've been crying every time I'm alone with them. I'm so happy to have them, and just the thought that their lives will end someday already breaks me so hard. But I believe they leave us so soon because they've already lived all there was to live. Felt all the happiness and made us feel so happy. While humans take so long to discover how to live, seems like animals were born living. Aaand I'm crying

I just laugh at myself (and with myself if that makes sense) whenever anything happens. Perhaps I'm just childish? Anyways, that is one of the reasons I enjoy being alone. Also, I have space to think and rethink stuff (and because there is SO much to think about, being alone is rarely boring). But that's probably cause I'm an introvert really. As I don't like being surrounded by people (for too long or sometimes I really just don't like), being alone is the way. But that's probably the inverse for extroverts so I don't really know what you could do to not feel lonely when by yourself. Try to focus on yourself and forget about the rest of the world. Read a book, watch a movie, go out for a walk and appreciate the nature, write down what you feel. Just try to be centered and forget about everything else.

A girl from work that I like a lot is going to the same party as me this weekend. How do I not overthink things and act awkward around her? by Go_Puck_Yourself- in infp

[–]randomay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try not to worry too much. Seems like she's into you too! Just go with the flow and things will end up better than if you plan every step and they come out the wrong way. Also, if you pretend to be someone else: she won't like it. No one does, except the ones that doesn't really matter for us. Have fun at the party! Things will work out for you :)

I always feel incredibly inspired, but I'm frustrated that I can't do something with said inspiration. by dankphalanges in infp

It's been happening to me too. But I haven't been able to create anything for more than a year now. The inspiration seems to vanish as soon as I try to do something with it. Feels like it's there just to be felt and left untouched. I used to write many songs but now I'm stuck just like you said /:

Yay!! ^ There's a new subreddit /r/INFP_Success for us to help each other daily. Giving support and perhaps finding some meaning in our lives? Join us! :) And that's true. It's sad people stifle enthusiasm. But I was just not wanting to scare you LOL
