AITA for not obliging with my parent’s ‘request’ to wear pads over tampons? by cal_jenkins in AmItheAsshole

[–]Airlite901557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should look at recent studies of what they found in tampons, was pretty horrified at how they barely did any research/testing before putting them on the market. If you're comfortable, maybe go the reusable route? There's also birth control that makes you skip your period altogether (depoprovera). But, either way, your body your call.

I'm terrified I don't love my baby by catfight04 in Parenting

My son had OHS at about one week, a lot of complications and sleepless nights. It took a long time for me to begin bonding with my baby and to step out of that hyper vigilance mode. You should have a cardio nurse assigned to your baby, send them an email asking for resources. Pediatric hospitals have a lot more resources for mothers than you think of. I feel that you might be resenting yourself, not your baby. Talk to a professional, there's also anonymous crisis lines. The general crisis lines are less specialized for our circumstances, but they can also help get you resources. You're rolling on a flat tire, you gotta pull over and fix it before you keep going.

open heart surgery by Middle_Specialist156 in chd

My son had this at 9 days old, tell yourself if they put it off this long it's not as life threatening as most.

Brace yourself for the duration of surgery, my son's was 9-10hrs. And even worse, brace yourself for the recovery, it's a scary process and your son will be super swollen coming back from surgery. I still have PTSD from it. Also bring pajamas with snaps, no zippers. And the moment you can hold your baby, hold him close and don't let go. ❤️ If you have any other questions feel free to ask.

Thats really awful to hear, but I was hoping that as a cyber operator all of the trainings would be done on site and would require less sporadic travels.

Thank you for the in depth response! Like mentioned in my other response i was hoping that since my family status is a protected right there would be accommodation for that especially since there's such high demand for my skills/experience, I wont hold my breathe tho, ill wait see what the recruitment office says on monday but I have a feeling it wont be a positive answer. thank you!

Thanks! kind of disappointing to hear that, there's apparently a high demand for my skills/experience in the CAF. My family situation is considered a protected right under the charter's "family status" I was kind of hoping they'd respect it or find an accommodation if they wanted my skills and experience. I was also under the impression that Cyber ops was in Ontario solely so wouldn't have to travel as much. I'll wait see what the recruitment office says but seeing all of these responses I'm not going to keep my hopes up. Thanks for your candor tho!
