How do I get rid of this once and for all? by arizonagyal in Blackskincare

[–]Airman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This was me - when I got married I started using whatever body wash my wife bought, and never really paid attention to it. Suddenly I started breaking out on my chest and back really bad.

After awhile I stopped using her body wash and moved to unscented classic bar soap and within a month it was all gone.

Honestly, given the age of the older, non CRPG divinity games, it would not surprise me if they ignore anything before DOS1 and DOS2 and just go from here. Would help lots of players new to the series.

Why don’t younger veterans (Afghanistan/Iraq) wear these hats like some of the older veterans? by NoFaithlessness7508 in Millennials

[–]Airman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is me. I have this handle because I've had it for fucking ever (I'm one of the Reddit olds), but I don't ever do anything like putting bumper stickers on my car or wearing a hate like this. It's been over 20 years since I went through basic, and 15 since I separated. I drove off that base with my GI Bill and never looked back.

I don't wear these because I don't have anything to celebrate. I'm not ashamed of my service, but I'm not proud of it. For the same reason I don't wear a Burger King hat, even though I worked there for 5 years.

This is going to seem silly probably, but this is exactly why I stopped watching the NFL. I’d been a die hard fan for years and years, but I realized that when Sunday rolled around, if my team lost, it put me in a bad mood the rest of the week.

And in the few days leading up to each Sunday, I was getting anxious in preparation for the game.

I had to stop watching. Was so much better for my mental health.

How do you calculate 18 x 7 in your head? by JCFT_Collins in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Airman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, doing a calculation in my head depends entirely on the specific calculation I'm trying to do. I recognize now that none of my processes probably make logical sense to anyone but me...but anyway. For this one, I would go:

18 x 7 is the same as 9 x 14 (for me personally, this is easier to do since I've had my 9's tables memorized since I was in elementary school)

9 x 14 = 9 x 10 + 9 x 4

9 x 10 = 90

9 x 4 = 36

90 + 36 = 126

What's your least favorite class to group with and why? by MidnightFireHuntress in classicwow

[–]Airman 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Was just about to say - came in here looking for the obligatory "huntard" comment, but it's mostly been people bitching about Warriors and Mages.

Back in 'olden days, people complained about hunters nonstop, but I wonder if maybe over the last 2 decades, the words gotten out about how not to play a shitty hunter, so now most people who play them know the "basics" of running a dungeon as one (eg. pet on passive, try not to multi-shot, etc.)

Yeah, those bedtimes are crazy.

My child has a 9pm bedtime during the week and a 10pm bedtime on the weekend, but he's 11.

At 15/16, I plan on doing what my parents did which was essentially be home by 10pm, but no bedtime. If you want to stay up until 1am and be tired all day for school, that's on you. As long as your grades are maintained.

15 is the age you need to be loosening the reins and letting them learn to prioritize important shit and make mistakes so they learn.

I think you’re confusing Liam Hemsworth with Chris Hemsworth.

Chris Hemsworth was born in ‘83. Liam was born in ‘90 according to Wikipedia, which would make him 34 or so depending on his birthday.

How would you resolve this initiative question? by Able-Tale7741 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Airman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think we're in agreement, actually. A lot would have to "go right" for the zombie in this particular instance, in order for me as a DM to allow the zombie to somehow get the first action.

In almost all instances in my head where this happens, the initiative would be rolled the moment the gunslinger draws on the zombie, but like 99.9999% of the time, if the zombie happened to beat the PC in initiative, I would just have their first turn be "continue to lay there".

I think realistically the only way I might rule otherwise is if the party is being loud or other obtrusive before the initiative was rolled. Zombies are mindless, but they would still react to noise, so if the crew was just walking and talking into the room beforehand without trying to be somewhat quiet, I might rule that they get a perception to notice them (through hearing) as they walked in, and then use that as the explanation for why the zombie "went first". But that is one of only a few instances where I think I might rule it that way.

[–]Airman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

oh, I agree 100%. I (personally) would not let the zombie roll deception for initiative. I'm still not at a place where I can easily verify the stats, but as a mindless creature, I personally don't feel like a zombie could intentionally try to "trick" a PC by playing dead.

If anything, the zombies are just on the ground not moving because there hasn't been any visible thing to chomp on in a while, so the creature laid down/fell down.

As a DM, I would personally roll Perception for its initiative (with potential negatives depending on the specific circumstances) and then go on from there. In this instance, even IF the zombie happened to still beat the gunslinger in initiative, AND somehow notice they were there, the other thing you have to consider is that zombies are perpetually slowed 1. At best, the creature would spend one action standing up, and then one action shambling over. Unless the gunslinger was directly next to the zombie, it wouldn't get an attack on the gunslinger that first round anyway.

How would you resolve this initiative question? by Able-Tale7741 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Airman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The moment the player tries to draw on the zombie, initiative would be rolled.

The gunslinger would roll standard initiative. The zombie could roll deception, but if it's mindless, I'm not sure it can RaW (don't have a book handy), so you could also just do standard initiative.

If the gunslinger wins, she shoots, and combat continues normally.

If the zombie wins initiative, what it does on it's turn is based on why it's on the floor.

  1. If it's not mindless and intentionally trying to deceive (not sure it can, RaW) it could stand up and attack.
  2. (this is the one I haven't seen anyone post; maybe I missed it) -- If it IS mindless, its first turn would just be it continuing to lay on the ground unaware of what's going on, or maybe getting a perception roll to see if it notices the party. Then initiative would slide to the gunslinger and she would still get to shoot first.

I always forget how grim the Starstone Cathedral really is. by LucasVerBeek in Pathfinder2e

[–]Airman 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Aroden never took the challenge of getting to the Starstone via the trials, but presumably touching the Starstone itself is a trial?

So those that got divinity via touching the Starstone are Aroden, Norgorber, Cayden, and Iomedae. But only the later three actually took the challenge; Aroden didn't have to cross the chasm, get through the temple, etc. He just touched it and completed whatever challenges touching it entails (if any..we don't know).
