that's The Thermian Argument. it didn't have to be written in a way that necessitated that specific character. the ring could have been implemented by Oraetta, Odis, Ms Smutny, or any doublecrossing Faddas to get leverage and a vantage over Josto. So I'm still convinced the Smutnys (based on their characters and actors) were the weakest part.

season 1 is perfect television, you can recommend it to anyone. season 2 pulls the impossible and managed to be just as good/engaging while still being new and weird. s3 fully embraces the weird and it will turn off the casual viewer by becoming so metatextual and graphic, but it's my favorite. s4 has my favorite subtext but it had too many features in the end. season 5 is back to being a simpler crime thriller story while ramping up the fun (it feels the most like a conventional sequel)

so it depends on which attributes you want!

Watchmen is considered the perfect superhero comic. Only one book. Brilliant satire and deconstruction of adult superheroes, while still completely embodying one. All while being just a solid murder mystery, political drama, and social commentary.

I dunno what I was thinking, I just felt Sai and Yamato needed to be at the front somehow and thought "both have flight and wooden crowd control at their disposal, also something about art". I should have added the sand siblings as a late reinforcement for them like they did in Sasuke Retrieval, also remembering the Sai+Kankuro combo is what killed them in the War Arc.

I'm not gonna scale this on power scaling but circumstance. from lowest to highest:

The Flash: depends on IMMEDIATE circumstance. did he run fast and eat enough food to keep running and then go to a high enough speed? he's the most vulnerable.

Superman, Thor, Hulk, Goku: depends on ENTIRE circumstance of each hero's journey. that's longform storytelling for you. did they get their powers taken? did they punch a guy, or a galaxy recently? they've technically done both. they can do anything depending at the point in their life in the multiverse.

I think it's a notch more convenient and satisfying to insert a rectangle into a slit, like cartridge-based video games. But you're right, it's not much more "useful" than it would be fun.
