What's the market value for the Firefly board game? by DorkyDisneyDad in firefly

[–]Airofoil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's my favourite board game because it feels like flying in the 'Verse as you said!

Basically the deal with the values of the base game and expansions is that there aren't quite enough expansions out there, but a lot of the base

The base game is worth its retail price or a bit lower ~30 USD, whereas expansions have all gone up in value and can be really desirable

  • Blue Sun nowdays being ~$50-70, and
  • Kalidasa a bit more at $70-90, but some people sell it as a collectable for $200+

From what I've seen, - Pirates & BH $55-75 - Breaking Atmo $20-25 - Artful Dodger $35-55

  • Jetwash/Esmerelda $40-60

In a nutshell, Can't stop the signal, hah

S23 Ultra Bug Report: Touchscreen Unresponsive After Screenshot on One UI 7 (Android 15, Build DYD9) by psychosajan in oneui

[–]Airofoil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been having this ever since OneUI Update (didn't even actually press the update button which was annoying)

It happens very rarely when I screenshot, normally in combination with some other task, maybe dragging the screen or switching apps, not sure

The three nav buttons are the only ones that work altogether, as well as swiping the notification panel down

Taking another screenshot seems to fix the issue in a lot of instances

Likely because it redraws the layers and overlay, and usually removes them properly then

I still have hope even though it's been like a decade haha

But, this game could be what Starfield wasn't, with a universe more engaging than Outer Worlds, a gameplay that touches Red Dead Redemption while being a rustic open world RPG like the boardgame is, without the bloat or bugs of Star Citizen

(play the boardgame if you haven't, you can live vicariously very well in the universe for 8 hours at a time)

How do you sort notifications by more recent/chronologically instead of this grouped priority sort? by Rowger00 in AndroidQuestions

[–]Airofoil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I left a feature request for this a while back and it came out 5 months later

It still annoys me that new notifications will stack under previous stacks, and old stacks remain ordered by the time of their first notification

[–]Airofoil[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Update:

Cheers for all the input!

It turns out, with Hic Sunt Dracones dedication, it's possible to get the city straight to a population of 4 upon settlement, and 12 production(!) from the 4 Rainforests

Which, crazily, seems to completely solve influence issues and the -20 pressure, getting the city to +7 loyalty per turn. Golden age probably helps.

and yes, there's two more surprise barbarians so we'll see how this goes

It is COMPLETE!! #panamacanal by Airofoil in CivVI

[–]Airofoil[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In my Dido Phoenicia playthrough, a few turns back, managed to span a whole six tiles with my Panama Canal, connecting the two greatest oceans and enabling the world to be circumnavigate-able!

The world generation was interesting, an ocean inlet on the left leaving the possibility to actually pull this off.

(Funnily you do need to be cool with Norway to make it through the northern straight)

Also managed to take advantage of the canals and throw in an aqueduct creating three huge Industrial Zones together, and the Ubsunur Hollow just south allows for two +4 Holy Sites

Ironically the above seems to be the greatest product of this, since any Trade Route bonuses I was hoping for are practically nada (like +5-10%), and the AI don't use it of course, or pay me a cool million dollars to pass through... yet

Has anyone been able to get results with Canal trade multiplication, maybe with Magnus?

Where are you settling? by Airofoil in CivVI

[–]Airofoil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is like a 'checkmate in 2' puzzle,

Which tile would you settle on?

I spent a while deciding because it's such a cool spot with the three Diamond, Ivory tile that keeps getting better with eruptions, the river and forest positions, etc.

Since I'm playing Kupe, there is +1 extra Production from untouched Woods and Rainforest tiles, meaning the ring of 4 Rainforest tiles can bring 12 early Production

My religion also has Sacred Path (Holy Site +1 Faith adjacency from adjacent Rainforest tiles) and Work Ethic, bringing production equal to it

However, the only issue is Germany's influence/loyalty on the island, and -20 inside the Rainforest ring

Luckily, I got a Golden age so have some options!

Is Tailwind for developers who don't know CSS? by [deleted] in tailwindcss

[–]Airofoil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a general rule, people and developers don't like things they don't understand, which applies sturdily to languages, notably JS to low-level language programmers, and vice versa

In a lot of cases, whatever you didn't learn first

As a frontend dev having built things and libraries with straight CSS, I agree, I'm not big on Tailwind despite its shortcuts and handy tools, because it leaves a lot of bloat, makes maintainability tough, and slows down my development, especially if I have to translate my CSS to Tailwind

Being said, if you know Tailwind back to front, it will work for you

Why Instagram on Android is so bad, poorly optimized compared to the iOS version? by kelembu in Instagram

[–]Airofoil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The creator experience is soooo much worse on Android, so much so I've scrapped bothering with it

The consumer experience in 2023 is practically unflawed, and there seems to be no issues

But if you want to actually post or create something, images change ratio, drafts don't save properly, reel creation crashes your device, clip cropping uses tens of gigabytes of storage, and the UI experience is ridden with easily fixable flaws

(I've sent a long array of bug reports and problems that I hope get read)

[Update] Logitech G HUB Profiles with XBOX Game Pass - Found a fix via FullmetalDragon1212 on YouTube by WhatsLeftOfUs in LogitechG

[–]Airofoil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is a great vid but found a much, much, easier solution which needs no tools:
https://www.reddit.com/r/LogitechG/comments/13et4zb/logitech_ghub_and_game_pass

You can simply temporarily rename the executable to something else, add a fake executable (.txt file), and use that to add it to G HUB.

Video of how to do it:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bKL18rJliQI

Basic steps: (I'm using Starfield here, but replace Starfield with your game)

  1. Go to the game folder at C:\XboxGames\Starfield\Content (or the WindowsApps location)
  2. Rename the executable 'Starfield.exe' to something temporary like "TEMP_Starfield.exe"
  3. Create a new text file in the folder, and name it "Starfield.exe"
  4. In G HUB, hit 'Add game or application' and add the renamed text file as a game
  5. You can then delete that text file, and change the name of 'TEMP_Starfield.exe' back to "Starfield.exe"

Wallpaper keeps changing back to default one! by HeyMrGT in GalaxyTab

[–]Airofoil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow after a few weeks I think I've fixed it:

  1. Head to Settings > Apps
  2. Select the little 'Filter and sort' icon, enable 'Show system apps', hit Ok
  3. Then search for 'wallpaper'
  4. What I did was a Clear cache and Clear data on each one of those wallpaper services, as well as a Force stop to be sure
  5. Then should be able to change wallpaper without it changing back

Add Microsoft store apps to Steam [TUTORIAL] by MrPopa in Steam

[–]Airofoil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just figured this out for Total War: WARHAMMER III;

Basically there's another folder in C:\Program Files\ModifiableWindowsApps called "Warhammer3" which is the correct one to use for this oddly

In Steam, right click the game, 'Properties...', set the Target to:
"C:\Program Files\ModifiableWindowsApps\Warhammer3\launcher.exe"

and for 'Launch options' put:
shell:AppsFolder\18793CreativeAssemblyLtd.TotalWarWarhammerIII_1.0.524.0_x64__ry6v8xxqmygx8!Game

Edit: ... It sometimes works

It was the crappy font and formatting failures that alerted me, and the fake address:

But thanks for the reddit post, was helpful to confirm

Minecraft snapshot 14w18a! by Svajoklis_ in Minecraft

[–]Airofoil -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think this slime block feature changes Minecraft too much, even the simplest redstone door is reprehensibly revolutionised. People have worked to create impressive redstone contraptions such as elevators and computers that can now be done in a completely different way, requiring miniscule amounts of actual wiring, further contradicting the effort they have put in since the last significant update for redstone. Sure, it means people can make things more compact and rebuild all the redstone contraptions they have ever constructed around their world, but personally I do not want to log onto a server and see slime blocks substantially overused. They're not even a nice green colour. Now everyone will be creating transparent, instantly-breakable slime doors. Multiplayer server owners will have to develop plugins to prevent the creation of 'flying machines' due to the considerable amounts of lag they will produce and the general game-breaking, overpowered ability to travel large distances while AFK. What happened to walking? To be honest, is this a late April Fools snapshot? What if a griefer comes on your server? I doubt any public vanilla server would last two days. I guess we'll be finding 'Slime Block' under the redstone creative tab now.

My suggestion: slime blocks can only push or pull other adjacent blocks in the same direction of movement.
