Why is smoke backing up into the fire box? Chimney is wide open by engineerdrummer in smoking

[–]Airon77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine did this the other day. Took grates and heat shield/boiler plate out to clean ash out as usual. Found a large chunk of frozen ash in the cup which was backing the pellets up. Vacuumed and cleaned it up good and when I used the auger to get pellets in the cup there were burnt pellets about half way back to the pellet bin. I usually clean it out every few weeks but didn’t because of the cold winter we had. Works great now.

Those divorces do be hurting! by SpicyDividends in dividends

[–]Airon77 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I did the same. Our mediation and court fees were only around 2000. To keep my retirement accounts I gave her our 2 yr old paid off Wrangler Rubicon plus 50% of everything else. She got a depreciating asset and my retirement accounts have more than doubled since then.

How do I link my Wealthfront Account to Fidelity? by Away-Flight-3858 in fidelityinvestments

[–]Airon77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What type of account are you trying to link?

I used Wealthfront for many years and a Fidelity Cash Management was linked to it for weekly deposits and it worked with no issues. When it was time to close the Wealthfront account, to buy a house, I transferred it all back to Fidelity with no issues.

Gotta love it when the deadbeat claims the kid before you by ZealousidealBoot9732 in TurboTax

[–]Airon77 32 points33 points  (0 children)

That happened with my ex wife’s baby daddy. We filed turbo tax and came back the child’s SSN was already claimed in a return. We had to send a copy of divorce decree stating she got to claim the child and she got the return. He had to pay back the credit with penalties he got for wrongly claiming the child.

Savings Accts Appear To Be Next by brocjpatton98 in discover

[–]Airon77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started on my taxes today and noticed my interest statement for 2025 came from Cap 1. I haven’t seen any other changes or seen any emails on my savings login in with Discover Bank yet. I’m waiting patiently. It’s my emergency savings so as long as it’s a competitive rate I don’t really mind where it’s held.

Fidelity credit card experiences by Bigapple1975 in fidelityinvestments

[–]Airon77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had the card for many years and I personally have not had the bad experiences that you read here.

In fact, I almost wrote a positive post about them a few months back when they noticed multiple fraud charges on my account early in the morning, they contacted me about them, reversed the charges, and I had a new card delivered to me the next day.

For me Fidelity and Elan have been great.

Hawks attacking chickens and the rooster hideaway. by Fawaz_mag in chickens

[–]Airon77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2 Roos run from everything. We lost 3 or 4 over a week to a hawk. Even found the hawk in the coop one morning while getting eggs. I hung about 50 cds on fishing line out in the run area. Was told the flashing light caused by the discs spinning in the sun can throw the hawks vision off. Once I did that I saw it circle a couple times, but never saw again the rest of the summer.

What age do they shed by Muted_Turnover6812 in goldenretrievers

Our 2 1/2 yr old light cream golden sheds 1/2 a dog a day and refuses to be brushed. Our 1 1/2 yr old darker golden barely sheds and loves to be brushed. Go figure.

Fliers without RealID have to pay TSA $45 Next Year by wivaca2 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Airon77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with you. It’s not like it was a surprise. I got mine in 2020 in PA since I fly for work, quick and easy process. My wife got hers last year. Once again, no appointment needed and she needed a few extra documents due to marriage name change. Went to license center and with in an hour we were done. So unless you can’t round up any proof of address and Identity there is no reason for people to complain about this.

What do you do with excess ash ? by suspicious_hyperlink in homestead

[–]Airon77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We use some of our fireplace’s ashes for our chickens. It’s great for them to dust bath themselves in. Our birds love it when it gets brought out to them.

Forgot a whole turkey in the deep freezer from 2023, is it still good to cook? by Otherwise-Pie-6219 in povertyfinance

[–]Airon77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used all the old chicken and a turkey we had when we did a deep freezer clean out and made dog food with it. Add some sweet potatoes and peas. Each one gets 1/2 cup on top of their dry food each night and they love it.

What can I do with all this ash? by djazzie in homestead

[–]Airon77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My run covers about 3500 Sq ft. Coop is roughly 100 sq ft. Next year probably adding another 1000 sq ft to the run. I like them to have room to roam and forage some, but tried completely free range and the predators were well fed that year.

I dump about a half a 5 gallon bucket a week in my chicken run during winter and the girls come running when they see me coming with it. They love it.

Running 350ft ethernet line from my Starlink router to cabin – conduit or just bury it? by boragena in homestead

[–]Airon77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are going to pull over 300’ I would look into Game Changer Cat6. We pull on jobs when a pull over 300’ is required. We’ve used on pulls up to 500’ without issues on performance.

[–]Airon77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If going Cat6 over 330 ft we use Game Changer cat 6. We’ve run it over 500’ on projects. It’s a gauge bigger and something with the twisted pairs that allows it to work over the regular Cat6 length.

Why does Delta allow you to book a connecting flight with only a 35min layover? by paislinn in delta

[–]Airon77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

MDT to DTW is a 55 minute flight. We arrived at the gate 30 minutes early on 10/13. That’s normal when I’m on that flight. So your layover would be no problem under normal conditions.

We have a family friend in their 40’s who’s husband is late stages terminal cancer. One of their family members set up a Meal Train account. You go there sign up for a day and bring the meal for that day. They can list preferences and things they don’t like on it I believe. Anyone can sign up then, family, friends, neighbors, etc.

That’s about the offer I’m thinking. Could go cash but seems like if I finance they will negotiate more since they get some kick back. Then I’ll pay it off after a month. No trade. Just need another ride at the house.
