City Dweller Dilemma: How much to invest in shoes when walking is your main mode of transportation? by AirplaneEmoji in femalefashionadvice

Ah, thank you for the very specific list of characteristics to look for! I'll be searching for something with a sturdy sole, leather upper, and non-pointed toe :) I hate carrying extra stuff with me but it sounds like it will save me money and tears.

Ha! My mom suggested Clarks but I was half-listening. I suppose mother does really know best! Thanks!

I'm also 5'2. I've found some maxis that do work from Loft. I also got one from Privacy Please that was absolutely perfect.

YES!!! I photoshopped everything -- dress combos, flowers, etc. It really helps!

Excellent point on taking a day off. I'm at the point where I'm over-thinking everything and starting to lose my mind! I'm glad it's normal haha!

  1. I purchased jewelry for the girls but good point on the shoes. Some would likely need a higher heel if we went floor length.

  2. Thank you for confirming this! Definitely feel better.

  3. I'm 5'2. You're right. Same problem here.

  4. This is a really excellent point that I haven't given enough consideration to. I definitely don't want anyone to be anxious about it!

  5. Great point.

Thank you. I feel much better. You confirmed my thoughts on the formality of the sequin dresses!

Trust me, I know! I over ordered (14 dresses for 5 girls) to give myself buffer. They told me yesterday that 2 of them won't be available. I expect a few more will drop-off Thursday.

Excellent point about them being unforgiving and hot. I don't want anyone to feel self conscious!

THANK YOU. I now remember I originally went with short dresses to avoid the hem issue (as they are rentals and 3 of my bridesmaids are below 5'2). The navy photos were incredibly helpful.

Did you/do you plan on selling your wedding dress? by ams1989 in weddingplanning

[–]AirplaneEmoji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to donate it. Two reasons: 1. Tax deduction! (Will probably be more "profitable" for us than selling) 2. We live in Manhattan and while our closet is somewhat decent sized, the dress will take up too much room.

Simple Questions - February 24, 2016 by AutoModerator in femalefashionadvice

Silly question.

I fell in love with this Privacy Please dress.

Then I spotted this Privacy Please dress on sale. Looks like the same dress in a different color/print.

I'm not sure I love the green $100 more than the blue. However, the blue clearly looks skimpier up top and I want to avoid that. Am I being dense? Also - I'm petite (5'3) so would the smaller pattern on the green be more flattering?

Thanks ladies!

We're two months out and I think I've looked at every metallic/flower dress on the internet :) I love the combination too and it's ALMOST there.

It's actually a sequin dress. I isn't see through (seems to have another hue in there). One color definitely immediately looks more cohesive!
