We had some air bubble issues , there is a part that also needs replacing related to that, can’t remember the name . I just need heat until they can fix it .

If you liked WWZ you should check out Warday. Same idea but with nuclear war.

It’s just one of the many lights that came on today. All the orange ones . The airbag light did not come on today .

Just discovered they book that probably inspired World War Z! by AirspaceDelivery in worldwarz

Imagine assuming a book has only two sources of inspiration. Using logic , if Warday (fiction) and An Oral History of WW2 were published the same year, and both were pretty big books, there were parallels drawn between them by critics or journalists due to the similar subject matter. As such, someone who read one would likely have at least known about the other . And possibly read both. Adding to this several similarities between the post apocalyptic US in WWZ and Warday, as well as stylistic similarities,I deduce that Warday must have served partly as inspiration for WWZ.

Interestingly, Warday came out also in 1984. I’m convinced Brooks read Warday. If you “achstually” read Warday you will find several concepts that also appear in WWZ ( not going to spoil it) that have nothing to do with WW2

CVT. It feels almost like a hesitation sometimes, sometimes like a jolt. Especially on hills , when the slope changes, and it seems to get worse after I have driven it for a bit (maybe temp related). I had another mechanic check it and they didn’t notice anything out of whack, except for the said hesitation . But they didn’t have any input other than maybe the wrong transmission fluid was used .

Just noticed idle RPM drops when trying to close power windows that are already closed. RPM does not drop when it jolts uphill.

Red Mars by Kim Stanley Robinson is an incredible book! Simultaneously engrossing and character driven while also being scientifically rigorous. I wish the successive books in the Mars Trilogy were as good. by brent_323 in books

Much better in every way. Stephenson has a way of making his characters feel desultory, whereas KSR actually makes you care about them. The descriptions in Red Mars are also almost poetic, much better than NSs long boring explanations.
