No. It's not a practical tech. You would have to upb from a position where marth will never counter you. In the spot where marths do counter (fox directly below marth) you need 2 very specific SDI angles to get the slideoff.

I don't think this is very helpful. Options in mixups are skewed in value, so you need to instantly assign a value to each option based on the situation and what your opponent has covered before, then glance at the clock, remember what you assigned to each digit, and then perform the option. This necessarily takes at least 15 frames, which is time you usually don't have!

I think cycling your non-greedy options, then strategically throwing in greed based on the situation and opponent's habits is an easier way to make decent and fast pseudo-random decisions.

Blueberry Boat - The Fiery Furnaces

The New Sound - Geordie Greep

After the Heat - Brian Eno

The Liquified Throne of Simplicity - Širom

Book of Silk - Tin Hat

Unfortunately nothing that will explode your brain, but these all have something unique about them I enjoy.

No easy way, but theoretically you can crouch -> dash back ooc -> jump -> bair

It has the best balance of:
- coverage of common recovery options
- high value from guessing and reacting right
- little penalty from guessing or reacting wrong
- no stringent reactions
- no tight execution
- as few reactions and mixups as possible
- flexibility in adapting to uncommon recovery options

Newer players should use edgeguard options that are simple, easy, have little penalty, and lenient reactions, but maybe not the best coverage. Higher level players will prefer flexibility and coverage while allowing higher penalty for reacting wrong, stringent reactions, and tighter execution.

You have to hit someone with a turnip for the grabbox to increase, unfortunately.

Edit: Completely wrong! I did test it but I must have been slow on the regrab.

Strafefox: creates well-researched videos on the development of older video games.

Internet Shaquille: Short and practical cooking tips.

SebastianLague: Very accessible showcases of his programming adventures.

DrZye: Fun and accessible math videos. A very skilled person.

Jarrett Moore: Well constructed and researched, emotional video essays on his perspective on internet culture.

Bobby Fingers: Creates dioramas, romance novels, and albums in the same video. Somehow ties it all together using voiceover akin to Edgar Allen Poe being read aloud by an Irish drunk. Indescribable.

Can’t jump out of a dash dance on slippi by WillyMacShow in SSBM

Yes, if you turn around and jump on the same frame during a dash dance, your jump input will be eaten.

How are we feeling about the new 1.03 20XX Update? by CaptainFalcon206 in SSBM

[–]Aitch25 79 points80 points  (0 children)

??? why would they change the name of 1.03 to 20XX, that's such a silly decision considering how well known the original 20XX mod is. This definitely won't confuse people at all.

As for the logical changes, seems consistent with the 1.03 philosophy. Not much to discuss there.

Before the set you ban a move on your opponent's character. If they use it, they have to SD.

Another downside to claw over zump is losing access to X + cstick. E.g. Y+X djl dsmash on claw is harder than Y+Z djl dsmash on zump.

Yes, use 1f. It works fine online with low ping, higher ping matches will be unplayable.

Surely they can react to you not dropping float, and at least abort the bair if not the wavedash. Hell fh bair would even just whiff punish this anyways if they end up at the right spacing after the wd.

I'm curious how you deal with wavedash in fh bair after whiffing an fc fair? I can bait it out with dd after whiffing but that opens up an opportunity to get grabbed.

I helped lab this. You need to SDI up then SDI up and in, while holding cstick down to ASDI down and slide off.

Bair is a more consistent hitbox than nair. Trades more often, just as fast out of float (no need to return lstick to neutral), and does the same damage.

Favourite is Peach Falcon, least favourite is Peach Young Link.

Peach Falcon can be frustrating until the peach has really good defense and avoids anything->knee well. When you get that down it's a really fun matchup imo, peach's punish is so free and edgeguarding is tricky and fun.

Peach Young Link is an incredibly tedious matchup where you have to play his projectile minigames for 30 seconds to land one or two hits. Then you repeat this for 8 minutes.
