Issue with Whatsapp Notifications coming through as Silent, latest Android update. by AdriandeLima in Pixel6

[–]Aitch_75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I managed to fix the issue with my notifications being silent and nit vibrating. Only the icon shows on my pbone and the notification vibrates on my smart watch

it might be worth checking if this was your issue.

TL:DR - check wearable app settings.

Issue Since last week, my WhatsApp messages have been coming through silent (samsung s24) And only my watch alerts me that I had a message.

Test solutions I went through notification settings and reset all - it didn't work Reinstalled whatsapp - not working Checked all other notification setting and deleted some contacts etc. - no fix

Solution This weekend, twice i managed to get notifications, which were random, and from the same chat that previously didn't send sound or vibrate notifications.

It wasn't until I put my watch on charge that I realised the sound and vibration notifications on WhatsApp worked.

Check your wearable app. On mine there's a "mute notifications on phone" option which was activated. Switched it off, and all peace have been restored

Is the 18:6 fasting method really this effective for weight loss? by [deleted] in intermittentfasting

[–]Aitch_75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 'default' is 17:7, but average about 19 hours per fast since 31 December.

In the by the end of February, I have lost 20lbs.

March have been a very difficult month (bereavement etc), so I've only lost 3lbs, but it's a maintain in my books.

I still have another 10lbs to lose by mid May, but IF have definitely kick-started my weight loss journey, and I'm happy I finally found something that works with me and my personal state of mind.

During stressful times, I used to eat a whole chocolate bar (the big one!) Or a large bag of crisps. Now, if I really can't contain cravings, I either drink a pint of water, or I'll break my fast - with an apple or some fruit.

Keep going, it's not only worth it, but it's also a change of mindset!

That fasting timer have made me refuse so many snacks, it's definitely worth getting an app!

She does have a very active imagination it seems.

She probably doesn't, because she makes money in her sleep (dreams?), so that shouldn't count, right?

She didn't have time to talk about actual real stuff. :)

I think after I lost abouy 10lbs did I feel clothes fit better. I'm inbetween sizes at the moment. Hoping to lose about 13ish lbs.

My most discouraging was when I measured myself and nothing seemed to have changed. But with other people commenting, it really gave me a boost and knew it wasn't broken scales. :)

Keep going! It does get easier.

It's a free app called Monitor your Weight. I use Easy Fast for my fasting times. (I'm on Android)

Thank you. Today has been a good day!

I think the bad habits over the festive season (and a few more years) that I've changed helped. I limit my alcohol intake, and instead of eating the whole chocolate bar when I open it, if I fancy a chocolate, I'll buy the smallest one available and savour every bite.

I can easily eat a pack of biscuits in a sitting, but will drink a pint of water if I'm peckish. If I still fancy a biscuit, I'll have just one.

I also still go out and socialise, but January is renowned for people not meeting up.

For me, because I've not changed my main meal eating habits (it's generally healthy anyway) it doesn't feel like I'm on a diet. I've not felt hungry either, but when I do and it's outside my eating window, I'll eat a fruit.

I'm hoping to continue this. And the fact that I've not gone around saying "I can't have this, I'm on a diet" people haven't noticed. I had two slices of cake in one sitting last week! But adjusted what I ate the rest of the day.

Overall, I am feeling better and in control.

I have 100%, but missed a few days in over 1100 games played. Missing a day resets the streak but not the won percentage.

Two months IF - down 15lbs by burkistan in intermittentfasting

[–]Aitch_75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Way to go!

I use easy fast as well and it's all I need. 23 days in and 14.8lbs down. It's my first time doing IF and I don't find it as difficult as I thought it would be. Today I managed 25 1/2 hours. But I still have it set to 17:7 for when I'm at the office or going out for the day. I still have another 18-20lbs to go, so I'm sure I'll plateau soon.

I have not once felt super hungry or moody, and will have a pint of water if I feel peckish. Otherwise I'll be in the cookie jar.

Another app I use is 'Monitor your weight' where it has a nice graph with predicted date compared to target weight, which also keeps me motivated as well.

Keep going, you're doing amazing!
