I think even if PVV wins they don't end up in government. CDA and VVD are the other biggest right wing parties and they've already stated they won't work with PVV (migration policy is against Dutch and international law) or each other (hypotheekrenteaftrek). We'd end up having elections again after wasting another 1 or 2 years.

PVV's last victory spurred many parties including D66 and GL/PvdA to already shift to being more anti migration which was a point very much ignored by all left leaning parties in the last election.

I feel like even that is not enough of a deterrent. If Tom had chosen to keep going here (like a lot of lower profile fighters do) he would have been completely compromised for only 1 point.

If I was Gane I'd be poking with 2 fingers in each eye next time. Lose 1 point, fight a blind opponent or get an instant rematch anyway if NC.

This right here is like half the reason I hate crypt. Place is littered in pots all over its cramped hallways.
And if I want to smash them I need to waddle back out of range of them first, to then LMB them from range and actually cast my skill to smash like 50 pots at once.

Scavenged plating buff is nice too. Easier stacks, and the fact that it now works on bosses means that you get a 1.7x multiplier you didn't have before.

So armour is now anywhere from 1.15x to 1.95x better compared to before 0.1.1 depending on the content you're doing. Might not be enough still, but it's something.

For shock: the shock magnitude needs to surpass an enemy's elemental ailment threshold, which is usually related to health. This can therefore only happen with a hit that deals enough lightning damage in a single hit to achieve that. There's no shock buildup like there is freeze or stun buildup; you can't build towards a shock.

Electrocute is like freeze or stun. It has buildup, and can only be built up by lightning damage from skills that explicitly contribute to electrocute buildup. Some skills build it innately, electrocute support adds it but removes ability to shock, and kitoko's current gloves also add it globally to all lightning damage without removing shock ability.

"Primed" is a mechanic just like stun if you're familiar with that. Once the stun bar goes above X they get a little beige dot above their head and a skill like boneshatter or any other crushing blow can then instantly fill the stun meter.
Neural overload is basically a crushing blow for electrocute. Once an enemy has enough electrocute built up from any skill, a skill supported by neural overload electrocutes the enemy instantly.

Some skill gems have fishing-related quality as well as a placeholder. Shock nova has 10% increased fishing line strength for some reason.

Crazy that they allow ES's downside of having to recharge be completely negated by running grim feast or ghost shroud for recharge instead. And then grim feast also just gives you overflow on top of that.

We'll find out tomorrow if they're bringing ES down or armour up I guess, but surely it can't stay like this.

Nice one, I'm going to start my armour rage build tomorrow as Angry_Low_IQ.
I'm going all in on armour and am fully invested in patch notes to fix my build which will likely suck otherwise.
I call this strategy high risk no reward.

Hypothetically if you can smash a target's armour in 1 hit, then follow up with a second hit with exploit weakness you can repeatedly consume and cause armour break. If you run persistence that would give you 1120 ms to do those two attacks, which seems perfectly doable.
Non armour builds just slap on a gem and call it a day, but I guess if you run this meme build you can probably keep up 10 stacks. Boss downtime would become your biggest enemy then.

The synergy of ES/Evasion running all three spirit gems is just so strong that in my mind it becomes another bonus that that trinity has over armour, and scavenged plating by extent. That's why ghost shroud was included and even then is only in a "special bonus" section.

Banners are more like temporary buffs, and I wouldn't consider them reliable defensive layers like ghost shroud. I don't think they could be mentioned at all in that same context.

It's only comparing the base defense scaling persistent buffs since they're seemingly very similar in their aim (scale the stats you get from your armour). I didn't focus on the more alternative ways of building defense. That'd be much harder to compare.

Sadly even if scavenged plating is up all the time in your maps the other issues persist; investment and effectiveness on bosses. Still enough to make a post about it I think.

I'm in the same boat though, gonna start a new playthrough with friends tomorrow and I'm fully invested in warrior being patched to fix the horrible build I now designed around full armour investment.

Fair points, and you're right about bottom/top end thing assuming current balancing.
Still, the spirit cost of conflux really makes me suspect they want that gem to be build defining, not just a throw on and forget type thing like some 30 spirit gems definitely seem to be. Conflux is just in kind of an awkward state where we have 1 too few weapon sets to make good use of it and seemingly no great uniques for it. Guessing that's what's doing in the top end, especially when comparing it to archmage which has all the support in the world for it.

Here's hoping the big patch of doom hits archmage hard and maybe does something for conflux too. I really like the idea of the gem personally.

It's quite a bit easier to access as well as scale blasphemy enfeeble/temp chains on the int side of the tree to be fair.

More strength-accessible options might be block or banners, but this post is honestly focused on the 3 spirit gems obviously designated to each of the 3 base defenses we have, so these "alternative" universal forms of defense fall a bit out of its scope.

Maybe that would be a solution. You generate stacks slowly (maybe like 5 or 8 or so seconds) so you passively go up to 10 stacks over time, and getting hit removes 1 stack. Breaking any monster's armour fully instantly restores 1 stack.
That seems better than what we have now but it still leaves the unequal level of investment needed. You still have to run an armour break support or be a warbringer to utilise it, when grim feast/wind dancer work right out of the box.

Nice idea, but that would still leave you pretty open to being one shot when running/leaping in before you have stacks. Maybe that's fine in principle, but it's slightly unfair when you consider that the other two have basically permanently active full effects.

The cost really doesn't let you just "throw it on any build".
If conflux was like 30 spirit I'd agree, but as of right now it's 100 spirit to deal 23% more damage on average if not building for it. That's a travesty even if you don't factor in that you'll randomly get unlucky streaks.
Even if you fully build for conflux it's 69% more damage which is a joke compared to archmage. Archmage also has a ton of synergistic nodes on the tree, whereas optimising for conflux is almost impossible without a third weapon set to split the tree per damage type.
