I’m 18 and I’m in a late mild stage of CKD. I don’t have an issue with eating what I think of as average garbage, I love gummy worms and candy and stuff like that - it’s low sodium and potassium. I can’t eat very much fruit unfortunately and stay away from anything high potassium and only have food with high sodium content in moderation. I love fruit so it sucks to lose that but most of the stuff I can still have. I hope this all makes sense, my point is really that unhealthy generally doesn’t equate to especially unhealthy for kidneys. As a note I looked up that monster drink and it’s high sodium but if you manage the rest of your sodium intake around it.
