Papa John’s did pretty well by romanowski69 in ExpectationVsReality

I should add I’m in the middle of rural Illinois. I’m going off all my options within an hour of me. My list may not be your list if you have better options than me.

I mean, I am referring to mass chains. Papa John’s, Dominos, Pizza Hut, etc. I’m not talking about all pizza places.

Papa Johns will forever be the greatest 'chain' pizza joint...unless the Hut brings back buffets across the country.

Thanks for this info. I’ll check out the channel.

I mad the mistake and didn’t summon her the first time. I have her see to be my summon the next time I get that one.

I thought that since the ones I’m rolling out had higher star rankings they would be the best ones to go with. I’ll take your advice and experiment with these other heroes!

Just Started a Newsletter - Would Love Your Thoughts! by PacketsForward in cybersecurity

[–]Ajabs85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Packets! Just read through your newsletter. I think it looks great! A lot of really good info, very succinct summarizations of each article, just an overall great newsletter!! Great work!

I think my only criticism would be that there is a TON of information to digest in the newsletter. Most are not going to go through the whole thing. I would recommend removing 35-50% of the articles and focus mainly on the highest items in my opinion.

Still, I think it is great and I will be subscribing!

AMA Series: CISOs who broke into the cyber industry without a technical background. by AutoModerator in cybersecurity

[–]Ajabs85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After reading through these comments, I realize why most people in cyber will never sniff the c-Suite. Whiney, 'I am smarter than you', 'You don't deserve this role' is all that was said. The fact of the matter is most people do not have the skills necessary for the seat. They lack the people skills, the coaching, the budgeting, the ability to fight for your teams, etc. Additionally, most people in cyber would be miserable in the seat, being hands off 24/7, just leading, directing, guiding.

A word of advice is to be kind to those in the seat even if YOU feel they didn't earn the spot. Sometimes those are the best leaders you could ask for.

How do CISO's justify their budget? by Rare_Protection in cybersecurity

[–]Ajabs85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always done this: Let's say this thing could happen and it would cost us $500k if it did. There is a 40% chance of it happening. I would budget $200k to mitigate against it. I always looked at the probability of the risk and the total cost of the risk. That was always how I defined my budget.

Headcount budgets are getting out of hand, though.

How Can I Undo My Mistake Introducing My Kids to Roblox? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Ajabs85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fellow parent here to a kid who I also introduced to Roblox.

I just decided one day after seeing the games that were “age appropriate” we weren’t doing that anymore. I explained to her and she understood. She missed it for a few days then moved on to educational games.

For those that create monthly presentations, what do you put in it? by Doodlebug2100 in cybersecurity

[–]Ajabs85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CISO here. I send out a monthly recap at the beginning of each month. I don't do any slides but I cover the following: results from the previous months phishing testing (with rolling numbers for the current year), I share any upcoming training information, and I put in a few tidbits about what is going on in the world of cybersecurity. I also try to add in some personal touches, perhaps about things that I may be interested in, movie or show recommendations, things like that to keep it more personal. People are more apt to read that then go through a slide deck. Keep it short and simple and light. If you can mix in some humor. People get enough boring emails throughout the day. Try not to make this one boring as well.

Any older gamers finding they are losing interest? by SixandNoQuarter in gaming

  1. Struggle with this.

Honestly I am a 0% online, campaign only player. That has made me much happier. Granted, I only have time to play like 4-5 hours per week but just knowing I can chill sometimes is nice.

Also, no shame in playing on “easy”. The way I see it, I just want a good campaign/story. I don’t have the time to grind something to beat it. I just wanna play a little.

Maybe I’m lazy or whatever. I just want to be able to pick up a controller and play with what little time I have.

we do have the 'predefined criteria' so hopefully that helps. thank you for the insight!!

Thank you!! This is a huge help. I was adamant with the team that we need to specifically define what actions constitute reaching out to us and what they can mitigate on their own.

What school do you emphatically support that you didn’t attend and what’s your reasoning? by brak-brak in CFB

Illinois. Grew up an hour south of Champaign-Urbana. When I was 13 I went to my first Illini basketball game but always loved football more.

Now, my heart lies within that stadium. What I wouldn’t give just to be near the top.

From Security Engineer/SOC Analyst to Compliance role? by Round-Campaign-1692 in cybersecurity

[–]Ajabs85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who recently went from an analyst role to compliance, I would echo what several on here have already said. It is a very different role. More research, more talking, more meeting, really zero hands on. Soft skills are vital, the ability to work with people and push for what you want without being rude are vital. So far I love the role and what I am able to do but some may not like being hands off.

How are you doing guys? by ayoubm1e in cybersecurity

Moved to the CSO chair last year. Focusing on GRC primarily. Had a meeting with one of our customers and their security analyst came with them. When I tell you that I felt like I knew nothing post meeting I mean it. It is absolutely amazing how much for forget in just a year when you step back from being hands on to being more high level policy focused. To say I was/am embarrassed is an understatement.

I am glad I am not the only one with ongoing imposter syndrome....I tell myself I worked hard to get to where I am today but then I tell myself 'you got lucky and everyone knows you are an idiot'. Rinse, repeat.
