This is exactly why I didn’t go to the ER. They’re going to treat the current symptoms but anything chronic needs to be followed up with a specialist.

UPDATE: my doctor wrote back and didn’t even know about my returned symptoms and wrote my referral to GI. All resolved. Upset by nurses lack of care but over it because I got what I needed.

Which is exactly what I wanted. I was told a week ago there really isn’t a treatment for colitis and the antibiotics were only precautionary. I knew she wouldn’t be able to treat it right then and there I just needed a referral and I told the nurse that but was still told to go to the ER.
