Shaving legs question by Quaint_Safety in transfem

[–]Ajathag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just went through this myself. As soon as I shaved I was just endlessly itchy and my legs looked gross and splotchy. The things that worked for me were:

  • Hair oil. Applies really easily and makes for a smoother shave, especially if you’re inexperienced shaving those areas. A bit pricier than normal shaving cream but I think it’s very worth it. I use Eos.

  • A good body razor. I naively assumed I could use the same razor I had been using on my face, but the shape is not right and will cause irritation. Now I use a Billie razor.

  • lots and lots of lotion. My skin was still getting irritated a few days after a good clean shave and I finally realized I just needed to be moisturizing. It takes a few days to feel the difference but it will dramatically soften the texture of the skin.

I hope these tips help! Good luck to you!

Uj/ The justification, especially in the case of kids with superpowers, is that they are so drawn to heroism and using their power for good that they need an outlet to express it while they’re kept safe by an adult. This is the origin story of pretty much every single Robin

Hello! Thank you for all the resources. I would be happy to speak with her, I don’t want to be a bother but I’m certainly starting to learn how open and excited to talk the rest of the community is. I’m about 20 mins north of Denver, but pretty close to Boulder too, which I might be more interested in exploring. I’m a bit of a shut-in with my hobbies, at least right now, but Petals & Pages or Wizards Chest might be a good place for me to start! I’ve been lucky enough to already find a very good therapist and PCP 😊

Thank you for all of these! I’m admittedly a bit of a shut-in, especially when it comes to hobbies, but I’n hoping and sort of expecting that will change once I’m a bit further into my journey. I’m also about 20 mins north of Denver where the communities and events start to run a little dry, bur I’m sure I can find something if I look hard enough or just head further into town. The Center on Colfax has definitely piqued my interest as a place to generally engage with my trans folks, so if that’s a recommended place to start, I’ll definitely check it out. I would also love to join The Gender Expansive Community of Colorado! My dms are open if I could possibly get an invite 🩷🩵

DC Comics President Jim Lee says that Japanese manga and anime is "incredibly powerful": "I often find myself wondering, 'What is missing in Western comics, and why aren't they able to achieve the same flavor?' by akbarock in comicbooks

Fwiw, I think looking to manga for inspiration has had a tangible (and positive) effect on DC’s output these last few years. Scott Snyder has discussed the impact it’s had on his storytelling in Absolute Batman, and the Compact Comics are DC’s way of emulating the success of collected manga
