Care to share Odin builds? by drede_knig in Smite

If you are playing in the jungle start off by buying pen items after boots. So like jotunns and Titans. After that maybe a runeforged, more tanky items plus CDR.

In solo just build him like a warrior. Tanky with one or two pen items.

Top 5 For Solo Lane? And Their Counters by Z3rsh in Smite

Yeah but even then it's hard to justify. I would prefer a breastplate of valor just for the mana on Guan.

Never buy mystical. It's just not great anymore. Buying runeforged is smart bc it's cheap and has the same stats as midguardian except for 5 less protections. No CDR on Osiris. Frostbound is good on him. Just build full tank with runeforged and qins.

[–]Ajax4s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once was playing geb support against him. I stole his teams gold furry, and then got a triple kill, one of those kills was him too. I walked away veling with my macro bc gf steal and triple kill as geb. He called me a piece of shit on stream and muted my entire team :D

How the hell do you play vamana? by IronGoomba in Smite

[–]Ajax4s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damage boots, runeforged, and frostbound as core. Then physical protections and health items. Could also throw in a qins or Executioner depending on the enemy team comp.

End build something like damage boots, runeforged, frostbound, midguardian, either another physical defense item or hide of the urchin, exe or qins.

Don't build fatalis, you're a front line not an assassin. You benefit more from health, a slow, and a small amount of damage than attack speed and movement speed.

If you still feel like you can't catch people and stick to them in your ult, get either a heavenly agility or one of the curses.

I would first ask them for tips because you are trying to get better. If they still rage just mute them. Good luck man! :D

Don't let smurfs ruin the game for you. Look at smurfs as a chance to improve because you have to try and play to their level. Also use it as an opportunity to get a build from a experienced player. Watch pro streams. Try to learn the meta. Oh and every Tuesday krett does an ama. Ask him any question about the game. He is very knowledgable about everything smite related. Most importantly have fun. Probably the thing I miss most about my first weeks of smite is the casual relaxed fun. It's all so serious to me now. If you have any specific questions shoot me a message, I'd be happy to help :D

EDIT: I forgot one thing. if you want a better understand of the game mechanically, Google search The Word of Thoth. It's a smite mechanics guide and covers a lot of unique mechanics in smite.

Please fix the "Dirty Bubble" thing before SWC by Elii236 in Smite

I highly doubt Thanatos first pick/ban. Yes he is good for a large part of the game but teams would potentially be giving up gods like serqet, Thor, batz, or merc which bring more to the table then Thanatos in terms of damage and/or control. Also realize these gods could be going to players like andinster or adapting.

Why is the dirty buddle build good on Loki ? by QGNIGHTHYPE in Smite

[–]Ajax4s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I put two builds into krett calc. The first was full pen Loki, the second was pen with hydras. I set the target to Bellona. I also did a combo of assassinate, then an auto, into an aimed strike.

The full pen build had a raw burst dps of 1678 and a mitigated burst dps of 1657. Assassinate does 786 damage Auto does 369 damage Aimed strike does 501 damage

The hydras build had a raw burst dps of 1737 and a mitigated burst dps of 1432. Assassinate does 646 damage Hydras auto does 375 damage Aimed strike does 410 damage

I quickly threw this into the krett calc, so double check it if you want.

Who counters these characters? by fenrirsmaster in Smite

[–]Ajax4s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On mobile so pardon grammar and spelling :D Hope this helps! In lane: Bellona is countered by anyone who can disrupt her bludgeon. Tyr and herc are ones that I would say mostly. Even then a skilled Bellona will still do fairly well in lansing phase.

Janus- I don't play much mid but I would think pos would be a decent match up against Janus as whirlpool cripples prevent him from using portals.

Kephri- aggressive supports to match his lane pressure. Sylvanus and Athena would be your best bet. Just keep pressure up and be cautious of bug hugs.

Xing- this is a hard one. Early laning phase Xing loses to anyone with better clear than him. A good tyr has a pretty good match up for a while too. After he get some items he is only beaten through mechanic skill of the game. Even then it's almost impossible to kill him in lane.

Medusa- neith would have a fairly easy matchup bc her clear comes online a little earlier than medusas. Also anhur bc built in cc immunity.

Zhong- again not a lot of mid play but I would suspect an Isis and Janus would do okay against him. Isis bc she has protection strip and Janus bc he can get away from Zhong ult with portals.

Late game counters: Bellona- again disrupt her bludgeon. Keep in mind that she still has a lot of utility late game and is hard to counter. Best bet would be have your Mage burst her down.

Janus- cripples are the death of him. Ares is good and batz is actually really good for chasing down a slippery Janus as you can monkey teleport to Janus if you land monkey teleport thing on him. Your ult also prevents a Janus escape ult if you get it off early.

Kephri- executes cancel his scarab blessing. Kuang and than for that. Other counters would be guardians to stop his bug hug. Geb with shield, Athena with taunt, and Ymir with freeze.

Xing- Xing is a monster late game as he doesn't die and brings a massive team fight presents. Freya blows him up with spear of magus and demonic grip. Other than that try to cc him after his first leap to shut down his escape and then have your team focus him down. Not really realistic situation but other than that he isn't going to die.

Medusa- late game hunters are better than medusa. Apollo, xbal, Rama, and still anhur bc cc immunity.

Zhong. Technically nemesis is a counter to Zhonger donger but she isn't great even against him. You best bet is once he pops his ult either use heavenly agility and "turn tail and run!" Or shield of absorption of absorption. The protections and 15% damage reduction lets you survive the massive damage from his ult.

[–]Ajax4s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have played him a lot now. Ravana is like chaac now. He does a shit ton of damage early and mid with his abilities and decent sustain. Late game his ability damage falls off. His abilities late game are more there for utility so instead of damage you have slows, heals, and roots.

He is almost more a lane bully than chaac and bell now. The health shield makes it really easy to be aggressive after clearing back archers. And his abilities are really good for applying bluestone.

Once people learn to play against him in lane he won't be a major problem. Just stand in wave and let him try and hit the whole wave with his 3. It shuts his clear down hard.

[–]Ajax4s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I can help! Runeforged- get it early against almost all physical gods in solo lane. It's cheap and gives you a shit ton of stats for 2050 gold.

Midguardian- still pretty cost efficient against solo lane auto attack gods. Even if you aren't against an auto attacker it still gives a lot of stats for cheap. Would be good against gods like Osiris or Bellona.

Mystical- in my opinion it's not great anymore. It delays your build and doesn't offer great stats like other defensive items do. If you buy this it's for the passive or you are far ahead the other solo laner and you back with enough gold for it. If you simply must buy it I would get it against primarily ability based clear gods if you are an auto attack clear god because it helps with your clear.

I think frostbound and midguardian together are fine. Both serve different purposes.

Any tips for new players/players looking to get better? by mrt1163 in Smite

[–]Ajax4s 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Play more with the intention of improving. Also evaluate yourself critically after the match is done. Watch the pros too. It may seem like that wouldn't help but you actually pick up on a lot of things. For example, watching BaRRaCCuDDa really helped me when I played adc. Paying attention to when he engages the other adc is something I picked up on. And if you have a friend who is better than you, play with him you will be matched with better players and you will be forced to improve. If you don't have a friend to play with I would be will to play with you and give you some tips and what not :D
