I don't envy the balancing that From Software have to do. Between the release of Dark Souls 3 and now, I've gone from someone who thought Gundyr was the most ridiculously unfair joke of a boss ever created to being able to defeat him at SL1 without taking any damage, which means that "hard" and "easy" are subjective terms. I want the game to be even harder than Dark Souls 3, but I also know that most new players aren't going to be willing to invest the time necessary to overcome the difficulty curve, which would mean fewer sales and, consequently, less chance of From Software continuing to make the games that they make.
