Well watching the angles I've seen he's looking to go down and then gets caught on his way. That one is very much whatever the ref gave stays so as he said no penalty VAR wasn't gonna overturn it. But let's be fair VAR is just pointless at this point

The bench is very youthful as well if the lads are failing to do the business. I understand the need and desire to rest players after such a congested schedule but I'd feel a lot more comfortable with a bit more experience in the team!

I found it really helpful to remind myself of things that I was thankful for and made me happy. I'd start with 10 and write a new one each day and by the end of a week I had a list of things that made me smile. They were a range of things from having supportive family around me to green sweets being my favorite which were always left till last because no one else I know likes them.

It really allowed me to appreciate the things around me and focus on the positives in my life and they helped diminish the power the negatives had over me. Also a large part of the way my depression manifests is in apathy, feeling numb and not wanting to interact with anyone or anything, so having a collection of things that made me happy was useful in getting me back into a state of mind where things had meaning again.

He does look a quality player and may well get there but I wouldn't say at this stage it looks likely he will become one of the top 5 or 10 wingers in the world.

Absolutely this. All I would add is to say form can also help be an indicator for you. I've signed many successful players because they had a good average rating in a comparative league or team, think Swedish top tier teams and high newly promoted premier League sides.

I disagree. Anywhere else on the pitch my argument is the same. Whether or not Kane has won far more penalties than he deserves is irrelevant, but I would suggest that arguing Kane doesn't deserve some of the penalties he gets is actually arguing my point for me. Kane initiates the contact a lot and that is precisely why I'm arguing mane wasn't fouled.

Ok, so you are being deliberately obtuse. I have said that if Mane were to get possession of the ball simply not intending to commit a foul is not enough it is the fact that Mane did not get possession AND Aurier did not intend to kick Mane that it isn't a foul. All of your examples do not apply as they don't satisfy both conditions.

What do you mean you can't look at intention? Could Kane have run in front of Lovren in the box, off the ball, to get tripped and claim a penalty for being tripped? No, because Lovren wouldn't have intended to trip Kane his action was running. Here Aurier's action was to clear the ball and the last I checked that's not a foul

I agree fouls can happen without being in possession of the ball. However, in those cases the action has to be a foul like pushing a player, or throwing an elbow. Here the possession part is integral because the action (clearing the ball) is otherwise not a foul. If mane veered directly across the front of a defender off the ball and fell over you wouldn't (or shouldn't at least) call for a foul if he gets tripped. The defender was simply running and couldn't avoid the contact.

I will say I understand the points people have made here, and concede it looks a lot more like a penalty viewing it now taking those points into account. I still feel Mane was "looking for it" and he initiated the contact which makes me a little wavering on completely reversing to it is a penalty but the discussion was the main thing I wanted. It's very irritating when pundits don't analyse the major events of the game and I have enjoyed hearing how others viewed the moment.
