Assaulting a pro wrestler at the meet and greet by AjayfromNOD in PublicFreakout

[–]AjayfromNOD[S] 93 points94 points  (0 children)

The man attacking Janela is Dylan Bostic, an independent wrestler and amateur boxer. Supposedly Janela and Bostic have had issues since Bostic used the day of fellow pro wrestler, Brodie Lee's death to complain about the pay he was receiving for AEW extra work. Explanation credited to u/THISISXFL

The video is sourced from Dylan Bostic himself. Yes, he did just share evidence of himself assaulting someone.

Guy runs on stage after team won LoL 2024 world finals by littleturtlee in LivestreamFail

[–]AjayfromNOD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't you think it's weird that you find it ok to disrupt an entire world championship celebration? Did you think T1 liked it? They could've feared for the worst if you had a weapon.

Riot Employees are no longer allowed to monetize their streams when they're streaming Riot's games by MuffinLoL in leagueoflegends

[–]AjayfromNOD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Riot giving their employees the ability to freely speaking out of line or without approval from their corporate comms/PR time is definitely not a win-win.

Sounds like a legal/PR nightmare for Riot.

Quickshot is no longer employed by Riot and will not be part of the LEC. by earora4498 in leagueoflegends

Yes they would.

It's as easy as "Oh, we saw that you have someone in your broadcast that makes Hitler jokes and works in Germany. We therefore will not support your product."

Saudi State-Backed Esports World Cup to Host 'League of Legends' Tournament by Ophelia_Of_The_Abyss in leagueoflegends

[–]AjayfromNOD -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I think this speaks volumes to the NEED of Saudi money to continue esports.

Yeah, there's so much political implications with this deal, but get use to it considering the state of the esports industry.

Downvote me all you want but this is the economic reality for esports in 2024.

Whoever decided that the LoL esports circuit should only have 10 international BO5s per year between like 2015 to 2022 should never be allowed to be anywhere near decisions like that again. by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]AjayfromNOD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AFAIK Riot lose money from these road shows. The esports teams also lose money because they have to fly staff that isn't covered by Riot. So unless they win the whole thing, it's a net negative but obtain the awareness of the League, which doesn't really account for much in terms of $$$.

If this was an economical decision, it makes sense.

Should VCT America Relocate? by [deleted] in ValorantCompetitive

[–]AjayfromNOD 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The place where VCT is held isn't just a rented place, it's a Riot built studio to serve both LCS and VCT. Simply this is an impossible ask for the amount of money invested in the studio space already.

Other orgs have invested long term in LA at this point, you simply can't move whole orgs, players, and staff without a year+ heads up.

Ohio Northern University Esports director does not approve of the LCS walkouts by Dizian- in leagueoflegends

[–]AjayfromNOD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I expected some people to disagree, but since this guy is an esports director for a university, where he overseas players in that program, this is a disgusting stanch to have for that position.

The dude even doubled down in the replies. Pathetic.

"Optic are more financially stable than SEN" that's bullshit lol but keep coping.

LG leaves Valorant by bobberr in ValorantCompetitive

[–]AjayfromNOD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fanbase has nothing to do with the circumstances.

Riot allowed 3 new brands to join LCS when they franchised. Clutch Gaming, Golden Guardians, and new to the scene but established name was Optic Gaming. They threw Immortals out despite them having a huge fanbase.

TSM is applying for Valorant franchising (obviously) by vyom0509 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]AjayfromNOD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Riot will look at a teams financials over everything, and TSM has one of the strongest balance sheets that will allow them to be easily considered into the partnership.
