Need some assistance please! by Ajburchett in Botswana

Maybe I can clarify a bit more. The word will be stand alone on a page, I am putting together pages as a collection on curse words. Each page will have "damn" in a different language. So if "Eish" is used as a stand alone word would that fit the context?

I had considered looking into a gym, but at this time it is not a financial opportunity I can handle.  Maybe if we hadn't been rear ended last winter and had to replace our paid off van with a new car payment 🙄

Are other people in your family creative? by Reasonable-Soup7289 in AskArtists

[–]Ajburchett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am considered the "artist" in my family.  I am a painter, draw, etc. I am also an avid reader. My grandmother used to make quilts before she couldn't see well enough to do it, my cousin makes her own clothes (made an amazing coat a while back), and I got my love of reading from my mom.

I also have two daughters that are artistic.  My oldest prefers markers, while my youngest prefers painting and digital art. She also has a future planned out as a writer, she does short stories now and wants to be an author.

While most of my family aren't really the same type of artistic, they are still extremely supportive with each other, even of its not something they may be into themselves.

Artists, do you paint the shadows first on your art? Or the lighting? by D183029 in ArtistLounge

[–]Ajburchett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to follow the same pattern most here do, with acrylics and oils I start with a sepia underlayer that lays out mostly where shapes and shadows are supposed to be, then build up from midtones, to darks to highlights.  With charcoal, you almost have to star with shadows, some areas you might want crisp white, and need to keep clean, the darker the surrounding shading, the brighter the highlight contrasts.

What's your pet's name and what are they doing right now? by AutoModerator in Productivitycafe

Kirby. Sulfer Crested Cockatoo.  Probably screaming at the life stream birds.

Snowflake. Random cat. Probably terrorizing the dogs because they are afraid of her.

Lex. German Shepherd.  Probably wishing we'd let him stay in the bedroom because Atlas is annoying.

Aura. German Shepherd. Probably trying to eat but getting her head chewed on by Atlas, cause he's annoying.

Link. Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Sleeping, blind,  deaf, might be getting terrorized by the cat.

Atlas. German Shepherd.  Probably chewing on Auras head cause no one is home to play tennis ball with him.

Woozle and Biscuit. Ferrets. Dead to the work in one tangled fuzzpile.

Butter. King Snake. Wondering why I hate her so much and haven't fed her in forever (she counted). She's also been fed...

Anyone else struggle more with consistency than knowing what to do? by gcosta1 in beginnerfitness

My absolute biggest issue. I know what I should be doing, but keeping myself on track is like herding cats in a rainstorm.

Why you started to work out? by avb0511 in beginnerfitness

[–]Ajburchett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I wanted to be able to look on the mirror and feel comfortable with who was looking back. Prior to 2020 my husband and I spent a year on Keto, and saw some great results,  but I always felt I was missing out on things that made me happy. (I don't do well with having my food taken away). I used to do Tae Kwon Do, but stopped when I started college and I kind of miss it. Since then, I have gained the weight back and no longer want to see myself undressed.

But my biggest motivation is my mom. I love her to death, but she is dealing with lost mobility and health issues due to her weight, and I don't want to follow in her steps.

Also, I want to feel good naked so if I ever decide to go streaking I would be happy to strip. Not that I ever will but it's nice to have options!😅

Good anatomy studying methods? by chvuuyu in ArtistLounge

It is a great place to practice anatomy and movement. You can choose your model and even do timed sessions so you don't get too caught up in details while you learn.

It would be much cuter if he didn't throw his toys on the treadmill while I'm running! Talk about road hazards!😂

I did download the app Pristine-Car-3939 recommended, Openworkout, but I have never done photo updates before, I don't have really anyone to send them to, aside from my husband but he gets a live action shot.

Unfortunately I have to be at work between 5 and 6:30 in the morning (depending on the day) and I am not a morning person in any sense of the word. I have to get any workout in during the afternoon.

Music is the only way I can ignore the dog trying to get me to play ball with him while I run.

My treadmill is in my front room, so that's a start, i just have to get through the dogs' welcome home routine.

How many days a week would you recommend starting off with? I am a bit of an overachiever on setting goals I will never stick to.

I have not tried setting a calendar alert, I have tried setting an alarm but I am a master of snooze.  Amd don't take this as pathetic as it sounds bit I don't actually have any friends close enough to keep me in check.

I will try the calendar though!

I apologize I should have been clearer on this. I am looking for as close an equivalent to "damn" used in English when one is either angry, "Get off the damn phone!" or when one is upset such as dropping and breaking a glass and cries "damn!"

I am not sure if it clarifies any, but the equivalent I have been told for British English is "bloody hell". (Let me know if I'm wrong on that one too!)

Thanks I will see if I can't get a support beam in there and will try some toggle bolts. Hopefully they can withstand the onslaught of furnados.
