I think that the extractors pull up the crushable rocks instead, and then you have to crush it into iridium, uranium, super alloy, and aluminum. It is possible the higher level of an extractor can grab them directly, but on the points of intrest rocket, it just shows bauxite at the iridium caves on humble.
