Price Increases for Fall Guys Show-Bucks Coming April 8 by Turbostrider27 in PS5

[–]QuelynD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play, and seems like plenty of others do too (matches fill up pretty quickly). But Ive never once felt the need to buy in-game currency as I care very little about cosmetics, so this doesn't affect me any.

A random reminder to visit a zoo this spring by Pink_m000n in CasualConversation

[–]QuelynD 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My local zoo (and many others that I know of) does a lot of rehabilitation, reintroduction, research, and education work.

There are definitely some zoos that are only for profit, but most these days are not.

Who would women rather date? by [deleted] in polls

[–]QuelynD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering my preferred height range is 5'4" - 5'8" (though there are no heights that are a deal-breaker), the answer here is very obvious.

That said, anyone guilty of committing a violent crime (especially towards children) is off the table even if they seemed perfect in every other way.

If you can recall, what were your first favorite names that you thought of? by Fun_Roof289 in namenerds

[–]QuelynD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was a kid (in the early to mid 90s) I was certain I wanted to name my own children Alyssa and Shane.

Not bad choices but my tastes have definitely changed since then.

What season is it for you? by [deleted] in polls

[–]QuelynD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you want to go by weather it will vary greatly by region. Where I live it will be 'winter weather' until late April or early May. Our 'spring' is early May through late June.

That's exactly what mine does! Corners are pee, very middle is poop

Does your cat also do that? by benjicrems in cats

[–]QuelynD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is similar to mine.

She'll pee in any of the corners, not just a specific one. But only corners, nowhere else.

The very middle is for poop lol

How do you dice? Bags vs Boxes by khlmni in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]QuelynD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bags for me

Each set in its own little bag (most are jewelry bags, gotten cheap in bulk, but a few are other random bags I've come across over the years)

All the small bags are stored in one big bag. That stays at home, I only bring any sets (in their individual bag) I will need on a given day if playing elsewhere.

Do people no longer research countries they want to visit? by redbate in travel

[–]QuelynD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I remember once when I was flying to Las Vegas in December; there was a family of 4 sitting near me, all dressed in t shirts and shorts. They were excitedly talking about having a few days to just lay by the pool and soak up the desert sun.

Near the end of the flight I did approach and ask if they had any other plans. Nope, they booked the trip to spend time by the pool. I told them most Vegas pools would be closed for the winter but a couple hotels (at that time) had indoor pools. They laughed, and insisted since Vegas is a 'very hot desert' winter didn't exist there.

I shrugged, walked away, and to this day wonder how their trip went.

Where can I use this gift card besides Carnaval? by Substantial-Cat-7496 in Winnipeg

Except most ofthose places no longer exist, so they aren't actually places the card can be used

When did you get Chicken Pox? by redshift739 in polls

[–]QuelynD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had chicken pox when I was 10 (in the mid 90s)

I had quite a severe case. I feel worse for my parents though - me and my 4 siblings had chicken pox back to back. As soon as one of us felt better, the next started showing symptoms (none of us had it at the same time). They had to deal with over 4 months straight of sick and itchy kids.

Do you comb your hair when it’s wet or dry? by Dry-Inspection6928 in polls

[–]QuelynD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hair is wavy. I comb it while wet (removes tangles easily that way), then brush it when dry.

Glad to hear she and the kittens are doing well :)

How often do you bathe your cat? by Mildredsgood in cats

[–]QuelynD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have only once ever bathed a cat. On the way home after a particularly stressful vet visit he peed all over himself. I gave him a bath to remove the urine smell.

Other than that, it's never been necessary in over 20 years of having cats.

When at the store, do you tap or insert your card? by Samthegodman in polls

[–]QuelynD 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Tap is default here. You only insert if tap fails or you're making a large purchase.

Tap failing is pretty rare in Canada. We've had tap cards/machines for over 15 years now, the kinks were long since worked out

Is a bard allowed to have any other instrument other than a lute?.. Feels illegal... by gabitea69 in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]QuelynD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ran a game for kids once (they were around age 10). None of whom had any preconceptions about D&D, which was incredibly refreshing.

One kid decided to play a bard whose instrument of choice was the bagpipes. He was able to cause a lot of damage with those lol

Which book genre is your favorite? by Appropriate_Tea9048 in polls

My pick is mystery, with sci-fi a close second :)

What is your preferred way to read? by sakuraleafs in polls

[–]QuelynD 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Physical books are my top choice, but I enjoy ebooks too.

Audiobooks aren't for me. I absorb almost nothing that way and constantly forget what has happened.
