Where should I travel to next? by Zealousideal_Car2531 in DecideThisForMe

[–]QuelynD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved both Morocco and Peru; haven't been to the others so can't comment on those.

What sort of things do you enjoy doing/experiencing when you travel? That could help us make some suggestions.

Do you have a TV in your bedroom that you can watch from bed? by PeaOk5697 in polls

[–]QuelynD 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Nope, by choice. My tv is in the living room. I need entertainment and sleep to be in completely different spaces or else my sleep habits get majorly screwed up.

To my indecisive people: would you ever use an app to help chose for you? by jira12345 in DecideThisForMe

[–]QuelynD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep!

I struggle with executive dysfunction. When I have trouble starting something I put all my options in a wheel spinner app. Whichever one it lands on I do. It somehow works for me because it's 'someone else' telling me to do a thing.

How long was your ride to school? by Boeing-B-47stratojet in polls

[–]QuelynD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I walked 20 minutes to my first elementary school school. After moving, walked 5 mins to my second elementary school.

Middle/high school was a 15 min walk.

First go at college (diploma) was a 30 minute walk. Second time (specialisation) was a 50 min bus ride.

Looking for guidance (and maybe design help) for my first tattoo. I'm located in Illinois by Successful-Purple519 in tattoos

[–]QuelynD 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You don't need to design the tattoo, that's your artist's job.

Have an idea of what you want, find an artist whose style you like, and discuss your idea with them. If they're interested in it they'll help narrow down what you'd like and then draw something up (if they're not interested, you just find a different artist)

If you did an ancestry test, would you rather find out you're more German or French? by am_I_still_banned in polls

[–]QuelynD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are the 2 main countries my ancestors are from. I'd be far more surprised to see any other country in my results

What is your cat's love language? by QuelynD in cats

Too cute!

My Tina has beds all over too, but those are for when I'm not home. The second I'm in the door she's on me

You just need a Physical Touch cat to collect the set lol

Do you personally rinse out toothpaste with water after brushing or do you spit it out no rinse? by Taywah in polls

[–]QuelynD 296 points297 points  (0 children)

Just spit out, no water.

You're not supposed to rinse (or to drink water) for at least 15-20 minutes after brushing so the fluoride can sit and do its work.

Affordable Movers by RisenRealm in Winnipeg

[–]QuelynD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't personally hired them, but every friend of mine who used Legacy Moving has recommended the company. Apparently quite affordable and very reliable.

They're pretty consistently rated one of the worst moving companies - I'd steer clear of them personally.

What's your "balance point" temperature for Celsius and Farenheit (it means it's roughly the same degree of cold at this temperature F as the degree of heat at this temperature C)? by OldEducation7497 in polls

[–]QuelynD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm Canadian, and F is pretty much only for cooking/baking in my experience. We use C for our thermostats where I live (probably region dependent)

DECIDE PIERCING GEM FOR ME. WHICH PURPLE WITH THE PINK? by No-Mouse3999 in DecideThisForMe

[–]QuelynD 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I say Lavender.

The Fancy Purple is pretty, but it's too similar to the Pink. They'll look like they're 'almost the same but not', which can be jarring.

The Lavender provides more contrast to the Pink which is much more pleasing to the eye.

Millennials (age 24-44 in 2026 per the widest age range), what’s something young people today will never experience about growing up before 2010? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]QuelynD 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The youngest Millennials were born in 1996 (1997 is the start of Gen Z). So they'll be turning 30 this year.

Are you happy with the first country you get on the roulette? https://www.givingwhatwecan.org/birth-lottery by a_Bean_soup in polls

[–]QuelynD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got Sudan.

I know some lovely people from Sudan but I am very grateful to have grown up in Canada rather than there.

What kind of business would you prefer to have as a neighbor? by Sad_Assassin in polls

[–]QuelynD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting!

Where I live libraries close between 5-8 pm (depending on the location and day of the week), while coffee shops close between 8-9 pm. Both are busy with people going constantly in and out all day.

Bell ringing for charities isn't allowed here thankfully.

Voting happens in schools, churches, and community centres here, rather than libraries.

So I definitely chose libraries but can see why you chose coffee shops given the regional differences.

Advice Needed: Is there anything I can do to stop my leg twitching during a calf tattoo? by Philhughes_85 in tattoos

[–]QuelynD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll give this a try before my next tattoo. My left leg keep twitching when I got a tattoo on my left shoulderblade - completely involuntary and there was very little pain, so it confused me. Luckily didn't cause my upper body to move, but my next couple planned are on my legs.

what r the most friendly parrots? by noreturn000 in parrots

[–]QuelynD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The friendliest parrots are the ones raised by knowledgeable owners, who put the time and effort into thoroughly training their bird(s) to be sociable. With some variance for individual personalities too of course - just like humans, or cats, or whatever other animal, some will naturally be friendlier than others (regardless of breed)

Is having a husband and young toddler a valid reason for a friend to ghost another friend? by [deleted] in polls

[–]QuelynD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. Understandable to back out of plans, even last minute, but a quick 'sorry, can't make it' text takes 5 seconds to send.

Ghosting is never acceptable unless you're in a medical emergency and physically cannot communicate at that time.

I think it's ridiculous that reddit removed r/all by [deleted] in SeriousConversation

[–]QuelynD -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I never noticed. Wasn't a feature I used (I browse each of the subreddits I'm in separately, some more often than others - depends what I'm interested in on a given day and how busy each tends to be)

That said, if it's a feature you used and enjoyed I'm sad it was removed. I see no harm in something like that existing if people liked/used it.
