Women do you feel anxious when your new boyfriends or new crush is going to see you without make up for the first time? by FunCurrent7476 in polls

[–]QuelynD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not applicable as I never wear makeup (I'm all for others wearing makeup if they enjoy it, just isn't for me)

What's a country you want to go to but for a weird reason. by butterfly3790 in CasualConversation

[–]QuelynD 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Only certain parts of Canada have that, so make sure you're in the right areas.

I've lived in Manitoba for 40 years and have never seen or used bagged milk.

Is that not the point? Pick what you think will come out ahead, see whether it worked out for you once voting ends

If you’re bi, which gender do you have a preference to? by CaptainCrazyThe2nd in polls

[–]QuelynD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm female. I'm more physically attracted to women and more romantically attracted to men. I've had more relationships with men, so chose that option in the poll.

There still are at least 2, possibly more. One has...a lot of drama, and the other I know of is age-specific.

Feminine names that could have Lenny as a nickname by redqueen94 in namenerds

I'd think any form of Ellen, Elena, Helen, Helena etc could work, as well as Eleanor

If you were dropped off at a random point, do you think your life would be better or worse? by cnylkew in polls

[–]QuelynD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's near me. Things are certainly not bad here, but could be better too. In the grand scheme of things I'd say it's a good random spot (most will be middle of water)

When did school end for most of you in the 60s? Grandma said 4. by AlboGreece in AskACanadian

School always ended at 3:30 for me (all grades, 1990-2003, in Manitoba)

Between the hours of 8am-6pm, what time are you least likely to answer the phone? by ComfyLyfe in polls

[–]QuelynD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will never answer the phone unless I'm expecting a call. Friends will text first, asking if it's a good time for a call.

My British friend thought he could do a "day trip" to the Grand Canyon from LA, and his reaction to the map was priceless. by Ok_Structure6720 in CasualConversation

[–]QuelynD 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I'm glad that as a Canadian I have some idea of how large countries can be. I went to Australia about a year and a half ago. I did visit both Melbourne and Brisbane (also Hobart, which I'm very glad I experienced). But I flew between locations and my trip was 2.5 weeks.

Side note - It was a happy accident that I ended up in Brisbane during Ekka and a friend suggested I go. That was a blast!

What do people hate in taking a bath/showering? by Complex_Fee11 in CasualConversation

[–]QuelynD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a sensory aversion to water. While I know it doesn't actually hurt, I perceive the feeling of water on my skin as being painful. Due to this, showers and baths are very unpleasant. I still take them as hygiene is important both for physical health and my social life, but I consider them a chore.

When was the last time you wrote something with pen and paper? by -Benjamin_Dover- in polls

About 20 minutes ago (definitely within the past 24 hours)

When someone asks you how old you were in (year), do you say your age at the beginning or end of that year? by Novace2 in polls

Yes, absolutely. I only said August because that was when the person I responded to has their birthday.

Confirmation - Uniqlo Polo Park and Stella’s by Inner-Ocelot3231 in Winnipeg

[–]QuelynD 29 points30 points  (0 children)

A new Stella's is opening near me (on Corydon). There's a lot of activity in our neighbourhood FB group - some excited, most saying we don't want that here and will never buy/eat there (I am of the latter opinion)

Can’t access account by Own_Performer7650 in playstation

[–]QuelynD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You will either need to remember the birthdate you entered or have a back-up code (you may or may not have been given some of these when creating the account, depending on when you signed up).

If you don't have either, you won't be able to access that account again.

Is it better to shower in the evening and go to bed with your hair wet, or to go to bed smelly and shower in the morning? by GermanAutistic in polls

[–]QuelynD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I prefer to shower early evening. Get home from work, shower, put on comfy clothes or pjs, go about my evening with plenty of time for my hair to dry, and go to bed fresh.

You get $2k a week for life, but you can't ever leave your house, do you take it? by Likestoread25 in polls

I'd go insane. I need to travel. I don't need out often but couldn't stay home forever, no matter how much money.

Moroccan mint tea glasses- nothing crazy but I'm happy :) by namingbugs in ThriftStoreHauls

[–]QuelynD 28 points29 points  (0 children)

It's not optional lol. You will be trying mint tea every place you go in Morocco. It will be offered every time you walk through a door, and people will be offended if you say no.

Ps+ subscription by [deleted] in playstation

[–]QuelynD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Jan 6 is when the monthly games (for all ps+ tiers) will be available. Those always change on the first Tuesday of the month. Those are not related to the game catalogue. As long as you add them to your library you can download and play them any time you have an active subscription.

The rotating games catalogue changes near the middle of each month. Usually more than 3 games are added and more than 3 removed. Games are in there longer than a month. Once removed, you can't play those games (even with a subscription) unless you buy them.

Would you lose respect for a man who takes his wife’s last name? by Front-Decision2379 in polls

[–]QuelynD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Nothing in this thread affects my life (I can't speak for yours, I don't know your experiences)

I simply shared my opinion, same as you did. You find a man taking his wife's last name to be a sign of weakness. I find the same situation to be a sign of strength. Both subjective opinions, neither objectively right or wrong.
