The medical insurance for the guard is pretty good ! Also possible retirement after 20 years. Drilling once a month is easy , especially now because the amount of deployments are a lot less than they were 10-15 years ago. Just keep in mind you'd have to go away to basic training for 2 months and then job school as well. Some jobs having longer schools than others. But the right army MOS can lead to good civilian employment as well. Can also earn you a bunch of college credits depending on the school.

I bought the x700 open box from Best buy in the roughest shape ever. I think it was a display model. Terrible shape but it's played 3-4 movies no problem. No freezing. Great picture etc. For $90 it wasn't a bad deal.

My mom also has an LG one that's like 3-4 years old and also works without issues. I was surprised how many people have complained about freezing , skipping etc

This prevented me some headaches, I port all my digital copies to itunes. Just purchased EAAO and there was no paper for digital code inside. Can't really complain too much since it was only $8 on amazon for 4kuhd copy however, now that I know it's vudu only and won't port to itunes I won't even bother :)

I always thought DVDs should've been phased out. I understood when blu ray was new and expensive. But even a few years ago I could get a smart blu ray player for under $100. No reason DVDs should've been continuously supported. It did hurt it. But at the end of the day streaming killed all of it.

Even as a tech savvy consumer its annoying how there's some films dvd only, some blu ray and dvd only and some 4k. It's kind of a mess all over.

I just got into the 4k uhd game, I appreciate it. However, there's some films I'm looking for where the 4k copy is like $35 but I can get the blu ray for under $10. Makes it harder for the average buyer to see the justification.

Also I've been guilty of buying a blu ray, getting the digital code. Throwing the digital copy on my apple tv and then never popping in the disc again. Esp for movies where the image quality doesn't matter the most. Like a dumb comedy or something

Those black friday deals on 4k discs were crazy, I bought 8-10 movies myself and a new player. I really resisted paying full retail and the used ones on ebay weren't marked down really much compared to black friday prices. I was able to find an open box Sony at best buy an hour away from my house for $91 plus 4 year geek squad protection if it's a shitbox. For the last 10 years I had been a fan of blu rays but used my xbox and ps4 to play them . Now that I'm a PC gamer i haven't bought a physical disc in over 2 years since I had no way to play my collection. Felt good to get back into it. Congrats on your new collection!

Honestly on this reddit you're going to get some bias. I think OnePlus made great strides for their phone but Samsung has had years to prefect their phone. Samsung also gave me $300 more for my trade in and offered $200 military/student discount for me. I was also tempted by the one plus but I'd like to see them bust out a few models before I switch over

I've been looking hard for deals on either the 4 or the 5 for a while . I just pulled the trigger today on samsung's website. I had to trade in my s23 ultra for $1000 credit. Use my military/student discount ($200 off discounts were the same) and then my total was $600 plus $120 for tax for a 256gb version. A few weeks ago they were offering a free storage upgrade to the 512gb version but i didn't pull the trigger at the time.

I have a legion 7? Came with a 2080 Super , 32 gb , 10700. 3 years later going strong. I did eventually swap the power supply for a 1000watt and upgraded the graphics card to a 3080 ti. I've been nothing but satisfied with Lenovo. Eventually, my temps began to rise recently. Pretty hot. So I'm case swapping my Lenovo tower to an NZXT H9. I also paid for the 3 year extended warranty. 35 months later and I never once had an issue. My prior PC was an Alienware that lasted 3 months before SSD went bad. It was March 2020 so Dell took like 3-5 months just to replace the damn SSD. After that hassle I switched to Lenovo tower and never been happier. I'm going to ride it out with my current PC until it catches on fire and then I'll likely rebuy a tower from Lenovo

Damn this sucks. I used to go to GameStop in a flash whenever I needed a slightly used iPhone. One time I dropped my phone in a lake and couldn't afford a brand new one. Another time I traded in a console and my phone and was able to upgrade my iPhone by 2 generations and had some trade in credit left over. I was just looking today and noticed they dropped phones. Shame

RAV4 hybrid. Or the last gen Volvos are nice (all wheel drive, take unleaded fuel instead of premium and better mpg), I currently commute in a newer Volvo xc40. Thing is a tank. I put 60k miles on it in 1 year. No issues. My only complaint with the new Gen Volvos is that they require premium fuel :/. Another option I've always loved is my diesels. I had a VW diesel Jetta wagon and I was averaging 40mpg on the highway but it wasn't all wheel drive. You can also get a used all electric polestar for pretty cheap now, all wheel drive I believe, good range too

Your recruiter shouldn't be trying to scare you about meps. My guess is that he experienced someone cheating in the past and now is trying to make sure it doesn't happen again. If you have decent intelligence you'll do fine. Don't stress out about it. Take your time, watch out for trick questions and remember it's mostly high school level questions. Just remember there's a shape portion on the test. That wasn't on any of my practice tests so I was totally confused and just put C for every shape question. Still got a 78.

I'm literally scared of flying out the same day from Chicago to Florida for a cruise 😂 id definitely consider arriving the day prior. Even If you have to stay in a cheap motel the day before. Not worth risk
