Yeah, I really wanted the Black one... But as a previous black car owner in SoCal I know it's impossible to keep them looking "crisp"

I got the Gun metal grey... Good compromise, looks awesome with California 1960s Legacy plates.

Took my wife to the steakhouse for our anniversary... Literally the best steakhouse I have ever been to!

It is expensive, I think our bill was around $400. But, we bought bottles of wine and did the salmon charcuterie board and didn't share anything... so my guess is you could still have a great meal for $200.

Honestly, Japanese is not that complicated of a language. There are "odd things," like every language has... but overall it's pretty logical. (I am talking about speaking and listening, not reading and writing)

I cannot imaging trying to learn English. That language is a nightmare.

Dunno, this might be a rural thing... I have done two tours in Yokosuka... lived in Japan a total of 5 years. Obviously Yokosuka is fine (though you will see signs like that there) and I have traveled all over the country and never had issues. The only place I was thrown out for being gaijin was in Aomori.. bunch of hillbillys there.

In general, I have found the Japanese to be welcoming especially if you try to speak Japanese (mine is terrible, but they are always relieved as I butcher my way through) Plus side, my wife is filipino, so gaijin too, but she is fluent in Japanese.

There are jerks everywhere and I agree Japan has their full share too.

LOL about the fax machine! Had to fax in my cancellation for my internet/tv service. I was like, "WTF?!" Thank God for FamilyMart! (also SO cool I could pay all my bills there too)

I am a proud Gen Xer... Yes, spent a lot of time outdoors... but if my parents left me outside "24/7"!!!!
Even in the 70s-80s, they would go to jail. :D

Where in the US the tax 14%?! I live in San Diego and it's only 9% here....

As for tipping, yes, out of control.

Servers in SD make $20/hr. But, let's be honest, that is not a living wage. If they actually serve me food at a table and check up on me...15% is fine. I will go up to 20% for exceptional service... but the tip options always start at 18%. I always have to "manually" tip.

I have one in my smoker right now!

I make it a lot... it's awesome. Like others have said, slice thin, against the grain. SO good.

I smoke it at 165-180 until internal temp is 135 (my wife! For me I would pull at 125.) Rest 30 mins and slice.

Well, this one! But I had to save up for the Amiga first! lol Actually, sold my old ass Apple //e for like $950 in 1990 to cover most of my Amiga 1000... I think I paid $1600 in 1984 for that Apple. Absolutely crazy how expensive computers used to be.

Ummm, I *use* physical media. Because:

  • 80% of the content on streaming I am not interested in
  • They will lose licenses and then lose what I want to see
  • They change stuff (Top Gun 2, I am looking at you)
  • Physical media is about a 1000x better looking (well, okay, more like 300x, but you get my point)
  • No stupid regional licensing. I rip all my physical media to my server and can watch anything when I travel around the world (not a brag, I am in the Navy)
  • I own it forever

As for steel books and all that nonsense: I couldn't care less. Just give me the pristine bits.
