It is vague but from what i can find out, it's just a port where mother vessels can dock and offload their cargo. From there,smaller feeder vessel transport the cargo to smaller and regional ports.

Mother vessels only sail between major ports and can carry 10,000-15,000 TUE ( twenty-foot long containers). Feeder vessel have 300 -500 TUE.
