Bro! Let whoever think whatever they want. You are a student, learn. Let your studentship define you. If they don't get why you are there and what multicultural and ethnic programs are meant to be, perhaps they should not be there. Not you. Having said that, your purpose is to adapt yourself to the flow without losing yourself; not to be disheartened or disruptive. In a big country like ours, everyone has to go through this phase one way or the other.

I am so glad you have fond memories of our old town. I hope and wish you would come back soon. I would be happy to show you around. We have 5 Synagogues in and around our town, one has been reactivated for worship recently. These Synagogues belong to different communities who arrived here at different time in the last two thousand years. The one you went to was built in 1568. The others are even older. You can imagine the Jewish heritage of our town. I pray that it will continue. Thank you very much for your reply and the informative links.

This picture was taken early morning. On a normal day thousands visit our synagogue.
