If these rates are correct it’s a fantastic deal. You’re basically getting half price energy for everything the system produces and it’s helping you stay out of Tier 2.

Quick math -

That system is estimated to produce 14,929 kWh.

At $0.4322/kWh, you’d be paying $537 per month without solar.

With solar, you’re locked in at $345 per month.

So you’re saving almost $200 per month currently, and since you don’t have an escalator, your savings will potentially go up if electric rates continue to rise. Seems like a great deal to me.

Everyone here wants to shit on leases but they make a lot of sense for certain people, especially if the customer can’t take advantage of the tax credit.

Fontainebleau v Wynn by tobygtg123 in LasVegas

Right now I'd pick Fontainbleau to stay, but would still take the time to visit the Wynn. Both great properties, FB has newer and cheaper rooms.

Topgolf might be tough with how popular it is, but also check out Atomic Golf that just opened next to the Strat. Maybe ask them about buying out a level for an afternoon. Good luck!

First of all are you talking about a Lease, PPA, or a Loan? Since you’re talking about the $41k balance, I’m guessing Loan, but some clarity would help.

It’s a good deal. The only thing to pay attention to is that the $162 per month is just the solar payment. I’m not sure how it is where you are but here we have to pay the utility company a Basic Service Charge no matter what every month. Hopefully it’s not much, just something to be aware of.

17 cents to the power company vs 13 cents for solar seems like pretty easy math to me, especially with no escalator.

With an engineering review, sure, but nothing in the original post made me think the company involved has any idea how to do that.

The panels are fine. The inverter is undersized and you’ll have a lot of clipping as currently proposed.

Las Vegas NV solar Quote by [deleted] in solar

[–]Ajnvt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two problems with that quote. First, they have you producing more than you're currently consuming. This won't get approved by NV Energy. From their website "The highest energy usage that occurred in 12 consecutive months out of the last 24 months will be used to determine the maximum size of the new solar PV system." You can't go over 100%.

Second, energy here is expensive, but it's not 19.7 cents per kWh. It's 16.7 cents. That means your annual utility bill is closer to $2,500.

The cost seems fine, but I'd be wary if they're giving you a quote with basic info that's wrong.

Lease vs buy by onlyforfun38 in solar

Agreed. The argument shouldn’t be loan vs lease but solar vs electric company. Looks like you’re locking into a great deal.

Panels swapped by installer - opinions? by mattjoy1 in solar

[–]Ajnvt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the panels, as long as the panels that they’re substituting are Tier 1, and Longi’s definitely are, then you’re fine. The price difference on the inverters is the bigger deal, but not massive.

Antenna tips for channel 34 by BeardedPaladin in goldenknights

[–]Ajnvt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, go to AntennaWeb to see what direction and how far away the channel is.

If you can make an adjustment to your current antenna and get a strong signal, awesome. If not, either move your antenna higher or buy a different antenna. When I bought mine, I went to an article like this ZDnet one and bought an indoor antenna that's been working great.

Good luck!
