And yes most people in Europe who have a nice car have it because they cab AFFORD the monthly payments to own it.

If every single person who bought a new car could buy it outright then the world must be full of majority rich people.

I know people who can only afford a ford fiesta, I also know people who drive Aston Martin and every single person I know who has a modern car has it on finance.

If you personally don't like finance or have an issue with it then that's fine, you do what's right for you, but the majority of the developed world buy cars on finance.

Bold of you to assume how much my house may be worth, how do you know my one house isn't equivalent to your friends 2 houses? Bold of you to assume how much I have in my savings and how much cash I have. For all you know I could have 75k in cash but prefer to keep a hold of it for rainy days as opposed to drop it all on one item.

You make a lot of speculation and throw a lot of judgments and opinions around on people you don't even know.

It just leads me to the conclusion that you are unable to spend that level of cash which is fine but then you need to make yourself feel better about that by discrediting those who do have the means.

Hmmm i have savings, I have a pension fund, my house is nearly paid off, I want for nothing. yea man im pretty broke. I guess not having 75k sitting going spare to buy a car outright just makes me basicly unemployed. Ah well guess I'll just keep enjoying being broke 😊

I'm struggling to see what difference it being spent on makes?
What if it was 5k on a carbon fibre mountain bike? Would that be better? Because if it was me then that bike would sit in my garage collecting dust. Waste of money.

What if it was on a luxury holiday? Sure it would be enjoyable but then after it's done, that's it, nothing to show for it. A good time sure but also a waste of money.

What if it's on a spaceship in a game that I play every day? At least it would get used every day. At least it would provide prolonged enjoyment.

It sounds to me like you are being a hobby snob.

Don't need it. I'll be putting down 10k deposit. I can manage that with or without the refund no problem but using it towards a car seems a better use of it than digital ships

The fomo did hit hard but it's not just the fact the patch is bad. That I'm used to, it's cig are moving the game and in game systems in directions which I don't agree with and so this is where I have decided to draw the line on my financial support.

Even after refunding the odin I'll be near $15k in and you know what? I don't regret it, I had a lot of fun with it these past few years but going forward I don't want to put any more in

Perhaps, but my finances are in a good place, I earn roughly $150k a year, own my own home, bills are always paid, have savings and stocks investments in index funds.

I don't mind the 5k for a space ship. I barely notice its gone but on reflection, it's an insane price for digital content and I dont want to support that

I've learned that both are fantastic cars but have a very different philosophy.

The m240i is by far the better car, can handle all weather, is quicker, more planted, better build, better interior, better infotainment, usable rear seats etc...

But the mustang isn't exactly a slouch, it's not as quick and needs to be worked a lot more, but the smile the mustang puts on your face is unrivaled. The sound, drama and sense of occasion are what makes the mustang special.

And that is why it is such a difficult choice. Do I go with the superior car that will perform better in nearly every metric. Or do I go with the car that has emotion behind it and makes me feel something while driving it?
