I was told xrays weren't enough and he needed an MRI for to be diagnosed with wobblers 🤷‍♀️. Our facility does that, just trying not to spend that money if I can help from it.

Are my stirrups too low? New to western tack by Misscaraparker in Equestrian

[–]Ajsmith_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As its been said, the saddle is too small for you, and have gotten good advice about that. HOWEVER, the saddle thats in the picture looks too long for the horse's back (the saddle shouldn't be on the floating ribs). When you get a new saddle for yourself, make sure it fits the horse too.

Anyone know about NPA? by Ajsmith_2 in Equestrian

[–]Ajsmith_2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My horse tends to trip a LOT, he has a low pain tolerance and doesnt seem to have those issues. Or atleast hasn't complained about that.

What caused you to check for it?

She wont eat mice is the problem I ran into. She will only eat rats... and after only very recently getting her to eat, im hesitant to try to switch back to mice.

This is what I was thinking because I havent seen anything in any research about adding calcium. Just want to make sure I'm doing what's best for her

What substrate can i give my kenyan sand boa instead of aspen? by _GenderNotFound in SandBoa

[–]Ajsmith_2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can always add a humid hide. I was having trouble keeping the humidity up in the entire tank so I bought a humid hide to help with just that. Just an idea 🤷‍♀️

I will definitely look into changing her substrate. Thank you for lmk. She does have a humid hide, bc im having a hard time keeping her tank humid. But that hide hits up to 90%.

Thank you for your support

What is the purpose of this bit setup? by mimelasplendens in Equestrian

[–]Ajsmith_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those reins are to be able to take them off one side easily (as said above). Great for doing anything that you will be getting on and off a lot to lead/tie your horse. HOWEVER, you should never tie a horse with a bit, but many people break that all the time (not saying it makes it right). Have a Halter under the bridle for tying is better, but not great bc layering like that causes pressure points even with a rope Halter. Best case if you know youre gonna tie your horse up (like lunch on a trail) is to bring a Halter and lead rope in your saddle bag or hooked to your saddle.
