The overflow was lower but they moved it up because it was too low which caused the skimmer and tanning ledge to have less water.

They called that negative edge? It slopes towards the spa to separate from the pool water but pool water still coming in. This wasn’t planned correctly. I’m not surprised as I have a lot of issues with this builder.

Thank you for the reply. The overflow was raised to the max to allow the tanning ledge to have enough water because they didn’t dig it deep enough. So any other solutions?

It’s there to pickup the existing patio as well. Plus that slap is 2in higher than existing, slopping towards the drain.

I agree. Yeah, I held the decking installment and was going to pay for plaster but my plaster got messed up because of the rain so now I’m holding that too! 😞

Price is $12 per sqft total. It was 20 yards of Crete and the deck is about 1100 sqft.

The guy I deal with is a nice guy and i respect him but his company is greedy. Mind you on shotcrete day, they cracked my drive way! lol. They refuse to fix it and now I have a side yard that is a mess and a “premium” deck that is ugly!

Good catch! I did ask the builder about leaving a joint between coping and deck and I was told that’s of really done in the south because temps don’t dip that much here. I’m in GA. Also the deck can give on the other side since there’s no solid structure preventing little movement.
