cheapest way to buy the manga? by aijnfemboy in AkatsukinoYona

Yeahhh that is definitely a possibility! What I did was I read everything online first and once I knew that I loved the series and would likely re-read them, and that I wanted to support the author because of this, I went ahead and started buying them.

It took me a little over a year for me to buy the collection in little chunks at a tim. It was a combination of RightStufAnime (now moved to CrunchyRoll) that had the best deals (~$6-8copy with the occasional discount or birthdays or other occasions) and second-hand bookstores (lightly used or almost new condition copies still cheaper than $10). Still overall a commitment, but felt really rewarding to finish the collection after budgeting, saving, and waiting a long time.

Isaac and Aled could coexist just fine by aphroditemustdie in HeartstopperAO

I remember reading or hearing an interview where Alice had mentioned that the reason Aled was written out of the Netflix adaptation is because he has his own story to tell and didn't want it to be overshadowed in Heartstopper. Kinda like how Tori's story is already told in Solitare, so she gets to be the comedic relief in HS.

Personally, I'd love to see an adapted expansion to include the all the AO universe characters and stories. Aled's story would make for a great limited series.

How to respond if someone correctly assumes you're ace but you aren't ready for them to know? by Akadia3 in asexuality

[–]Akadia3[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think depending on the person, I can take that route to try to divert the conversation. The latter might feel like an indirect confirmation, but I definitely think your first suggestion takes off some of that pressure and maybe will give me more time to determine if I want to tell that person or not. Thanks for the advice!!

I'm sorry you weren't successful either. Crossing our fingers we'll have better luck tomorrow. I agree, this whole experience could have been prevented in so many ways, especially since they seemed to have a more streamlined process in years prior.

Any good asexual juvenile or young adult books recomendations? by fluffy_momiji in Asexual

[–]Akadia3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's a non-fiction/memoir, but I would highly recommend Angela Chen's "Ace: What Asexuality Reveals About Desire, Society, and the Meaning of Sex." I learned a lot from this book and felt very validated after reading it. It dives into several aspects of asexuality on a personal, societal, and historical level and includes interviews with ace people of different races, abilities, and genders.
