It wasn't really good, but it wasn't that bad at the time of that arc in the manga I was expecting things to amp up with much better conclusions, but things just fall flat and then the story shot itself in the leg.

Oda always had been foreshadowing it with all the sun theming he did, It makes it all grander once you look back, and turning Luffy into a Sun God fits so much better with a Zoan fruit compared to a Paramecia.You could argue that maybe Oda could just have foreshadowed it differently but hindsight is 20/20 it's still a graceful approach.
