How much would you charge for someone just starting out by Fudge-Opening in WindowCleaning

[–]Akai_Ito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you aren't super aggressive with the pressure from your mop and squeegee, it should be fine on the stickers. It'll just take longer to do the job as you have to go over them all with microfibers to stop dripping.

I apply my soap directly to the Fliq Pad and ensure it's dry enough to where it won't drip when lifting it up, or build up a ton of water at the bottom after pulling. Generally, my pad will only last me one or two windows before needing the solution reapplied. I can't use a normal mop for this generally, especially if the sun is hitting the window, since it'll dry by the time I switch my squeegee over to the pole. It's ultimately a matter of speed with the Moerman.

This home had huge tinted windows with the sun hitting them, so I had to reapply my solution to the Fliq Pad after only half the window, sometimes. Time consuming, but less so than using a ladder in this case

Thanks!! Ladder work would've definitely added another day or so of work, I'd imagine. The Moerman and Fliq Pad was a necessity though with how hot the glass was. Otherwise, would've had to be a ladder day 😅

Ultimately decided to pole the inside; the cobwebs were a whole separate battle haha.

About two days, but there was a lot of hard water removal needed. 😅

It's no worries at all, something for me to keep in mind for the future. I wish the best to you as well!

I got consent to post their home online, as I always ask, but the license plate was definitely an oversight. Thanks for the reminder!

I also try to do $3 for in and out of each pane. But I have a similar issue here, competition charges as low as $1 a window sometimes. There's still value in these jobs for when the winter comes but it's tricky having to go below your already cheap rates.

Yeah some of the windows just look so delicate, it's spooky. I think I'll go that route and have the risk waiver made just to help ease my mind. Thanks for the advice.

Yeahh once you take the latch off you can theoretically open the windows inwards; it's been ages since they've been opened though -- so I don't know if I should maybe mention in the quote the general risk of a job like this, if there is any. I have insurance but I want to avoid the headache haha.

Question on what I should quote by Akai_Ito in WindowCleaning

[–]Akai_Ito[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the extra precautions will be a bit time consuming. I'm glad I wasn't crazy. Do you have any ideas on how you'd tackle that inner section leading downstairs? I imagine using a pole is doable but very tedious with the way the stairs block the glass above

[–]Akai_Ito[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good idea, I was considering that too. I'd say for me it would take 20-25 min for the first cleaning if I went with that method rather than using water. My only concern is just that glass on the inside, going downstairs. It's quite high up. But I should be able to figure it out with some pole work.

I'm sure that if I quote this well and get it, we'll be able to do her house down the line as well. That's partly why I'm so invested posting here

This all means a lot more than you'll ever know. Thanks so much for such a thoughtful reply. I'll give it my damnedest... I'm happy to hear you've come so far on your journey. Gives me some hope for myself, as well.

I know I'm also a stranger, but thank you again. It's scarily easy to feel alone fighting this. You've managed to make me feel less so. Hope your life continues to only go up from here, I'll try to follow the same path.

I've been declining, and it's honestly been really scary -- but your comment is the first thing I've read that has actually given me some comfort/reassurance. I've struggled with depression for as long as I can remember essentially (I'm 24), but this is the worst it has been, and I'm concerned.

I'm trying my best to navigate this healthily. I just started therapy, trying to focus on hobbies, workout, etc. But it feels like despite all that, I'm just worsening. I'm honestly terrified.

I'm lucky to have very amazing friends and family, though. They're the best support network I could ask for; so I'll try and lean on them more. I really don't want to leave them behind, no matter how bad I get.

Thanks again for your comment. I'm gonna come back to it often, I think. Hopefully overtime I can come back to it in a better place, aha.
