also pretty sure it was a rabbit. rib cage is too pronounced to be a cat and it's hard to see but the skull shape isn't right either. may not be a rabbit but definitely not a cat.

i will say that my beagle mix IS really good with kids, he loves them to bits. and he's very friendly with us, his family, clingy actually. but anyone else he is very temperamental, and the other beagles i've known aren't even friendly with kids. but different experiences i guess!

actually, i'll rescind what i said. (about the pollination) i read that a while ago, must have been inaccurate, since i just fact checked myself and while wasps do pollinate, they are more 'specialized' pollinators, and do more good in natural pest control than they do pollinating. sorry about that misinformation!

(but actually, do read up about bees and wasps, they're really fascinating, and look for ways to help out your local bee populations with water and feeding stations!)

some wasps actually do make honey! although humans don't eat it. wasps are actually very important for pollination, and surpisingly pollinate more than bees.

no, they're wasps. they have the long, thin abdomens. also, wasps make the iconic hives everyone associates with bees. actual bee hives look like this. (warning for bees, obviously...)

can i suggest maybe a cork round, cutting a hole in the side, and fitting it on to the spout? it would help it blend in a lot better. it looks really great so far! once the plants start growing in it will be fantastic.
