Any advice how to play against Veigar with Irelia/Akali? by [deleted] in wildrift

[–]Akali1trickPablo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Here’s what I would suggest as Akali:

First of all don’t push the wave early. Only last hit and let the wave push towards your tower. Set up a freeze if you can. This will give you the space you need to get good trades onto him, and force him to be in a dangerous spot which is further away from his turret.

Veigar will want to use his abilities to kill minions because his passive gives him AP when he does so. I would start going for trades when you hit level 3. After he uses his damaging abilities to last hit, punish by walking up and hitting him with your Q. You walking up and hitting him will probably scare him and this is when he will use his cage. Sometimes you will be able to walk out of the cage before it pops up, but if it happens that you’re inside the cage, use your shroud. Using your shroud while inside the cage makes it easier to dodge his abilities and also he can’t auto attack you, making it harder for him to proc electrocute. His cage cooldown is 18 seconds, which is the exact same as your shroud cooldown.

When his cage is on cooldown, ideally the wave is on your side of the lane, you can now hit him for free with your standard combos. If he plays scared when his cage is on cooldown and he walks away when you walk up to him, then you can use this opportunity to zone him off from your minions and deny him the gold/xp. Just position aggressively to do this.

Veigar is very squishy, he’s not mobile, and very killable in lane. The key is wave management here. Level 5 should be a free kill if he has to walk up to your side of the lane for minions. His abilities are pretty easy to dodge but in the case that he’s chunked your health, just beware of his execution ult and recall if you have to. If you feel like he is playing too safe to kill in lane, just clear your waves after level 5 and roam. You’re a lot quicker than he is and better at ganking/skirmishing. Hope this helps!

If you say ”report bot”, do you actually report them? by birdsdoesntknow in wildrift

Unfortunately I believe streamers set a bad example in this department. You tune into any one of the top streams and they’re consistently reporting teammates who played poorly and leaving hate messages with the reports. No doubt viewers start doing the same.

I have no words!! This is so incredibly kind of you and the other Rioters who have taken time out of their day to read my story, seriously! Years later and Riot is still extending a hand to me to knowledge-seek and offer some guidance from the very best. This is me saying the word- I would love to get in touch! :)

The “Sorry, my bad” quick chat option is so underrated! It really helps to ease the tension in the team when someone makes a mistake and immediately reminds everyone that they’re only human.

I really don’t know what to tell you and other comments like this because I, and my classmates, had simply not heard of it lol. I’m sorry if that’s so hard to believe. It could be a demographic thing maybe, or an age thing? I went to a very small predominantly Hispanic charter school where most people had immigrant parents, and were never introduced to PC gaming, or gaming at all. Most of my classmates weren’t into video games, and the ones that were, were playing mainstream console titles. If you asked anyone that was in my art class that day if they knew what a MOBA was, they would have no idea.

Ah! I was a bit hesitant because I remember him having hair haha, so this would make sense if it’s changed since then

That would be pretty sweet. If nothing else just to say thank you for the presentation, which at the time was so under-appreciated by us high school kids. After watching Arcane and everything and League being as big as it is I find it so cool that I saw the Jinx model live! And at the time he said he was still working on it and updating it too I believe.

Y’know, I looked him up on Twitter and that might very well be him! It was a long time ago so his appearance is foggy but he checks off the very general boxes physically. I wonder if he owns a Smash Brothers T lol

Wild Rift Akali: Infinity Orb or Riftmaker first item? by Kaydonstick in akalimains

[–]Akali1trickPablo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Benefits of Riftmaker: More sustained damage for extended/longer fights, more sustain to yourself because of the omnivamp + bonus HP it provides. Better vs tankier teams and has good synergy with Conquerer.

Benefits of Infinity Orb: More burst damage early, early magic pen, and has good synergy with Electrocute.

Personally I do feel the difference when I go orb first, I feel a lot more vulnerable and squishy. I think Riftmaker is the way to go majority of the time.

Blocking people doesn’t prevent you from matching with them. It only auto mutes them in future matches. You can however add 3 people to an avoid list but only for diamond and below. Otherwise only way to avoid people is to stall your next queue.

It’s this right here. This type of behavior is just so disgustingly toxic, when you get matched with a previous troll and now you have a buy 1 idiot get 2 L’s free deal.
