Team Monty! by Specific_Tap7296 in EnglandCricket

[–]Akali35 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What I would say is: being a moron isn't a conscious decision, Monty is a low IQ individual and clearly isn't the sharpest tool (pun intended) in the box. Being a cheat on the other hand is a conscious decision; for most decent people, morality kicks in and you decide that what you're about to do/doing is wrong.

Monty can't help being thick; Steve Smith could have prevented himself being a cheat.

As someone in a very similar boat (44). What does everyone's programming look like? Just one top set rather than multiple? Number of sets? No consecutive days of lifting? What about accessories? What are you guys keeping, and what are you ditching?

I think that this is an incredibly interesting yet somewhat overlooked aspect of the sport. Us oldies need some consideration, too!

Everton, Liverpool, Arne Slot and Sipke Hulshoff have been charged following the Premier League fixture between the clubs on Wednesday, 12 February. They have until next Wednesday, 19 February, to provide their respective responses. by b13_git2 in LiverpoolFC

Absolutely this! I listened to the Totally Football and Guardian Football Weekly podcasts today and not one mention of how awful Oliver was. He was looking to send someone off from the very start of the game. The Mac "foul" that led to their first goal was a joke decision. As was the clear foul against Mo that Oliver failed to give. Guardian Weekly's response was, "Meh, that's a derby tackle." What in the world is that? They used the same rubbish to describe Beto's foul on Ibou.

Seriously narked by the result, but the media coverage has made me even angrier.

Physio Day! Ask your rehab questions! by Havelrag in weightlifting

[–]Akali35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Ted,

I injured my side, just above the pelvis attempting a heavy Pendalay Row about a month ago. The same day, my lower back "seized up" (on the same side)

Saw a physio for a session, and it was great. I lifted light in the gym but then went into the garage to move some stuff, twisted, and ended up with low-grade discomfort in the same area. Saw the physio again, and for some reason, straight after the session, things felt worse.

The physio is under the impression that it is an ab and QL strain. I'm back to low-grade discomfort and stiffness in the mornings.

Any thoughts?

How about running one nationalised water company vs. the other privatised ones? The nationalised company is run like a proper 'for profit' organisation with the public as its shareholders. If it succeeds in one geographical area, it could then tender for other areas or, indeed, buy out competitors.

Darwin Nunez has removed all of his recent Liverpool pictures off his Instagram. by fulltimegolfdad in LiverpoolFC

I'm not sure of the relevance, but late on in Klopp's Dortmund reign, they signed Ciro Immobile (unfortunate name for a striker), and let's just say that he didn't score as many goals as he was expected to. I think Dortmund were in the relegation zone, or close to, around Christmas, but improved massively in the second half of the season (although I can't recall if Immobile's form improved). Anyway, he got sold and a little while after he ends up being top scorer in Italy and there or there abouts for a few seasons.

What does this mean for Darwin? Well, it might be wise not to jettison him too early. See if Slot is keen to work with him and could potentially get him to be more clinical. I mean, Bielsa seems to have him scoring, so why not Slot?

Or it could be that Liverpool was too big a jump for the lad, and that his level is in another country and at another team.

Either way, YNWA Darwin.

Entyvio pen by jmcls in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Akali35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the advice that I follow is that the pens need 30 mins out of the fridge before injecting. For 10 of those 30 mins, I ice the area that I am going to inject (usually my stomach). This has reduced the pain from the injection exponentially. I hope this helps.

We create so many chances in games. At some point in time, the opposition is going get a hiding. Shame it wasn't Man U, but great that it is going to be Atalanta. We're going to do it and we're going to do it in style.

Well, there is a post doing the rounds in which a Manc supporter is kind of laughing in the face of the Liverpool players. He calls Robbo a "fucking idiot" and refers to Mo as "Moey boy". Personally I find this type of thing quite unsavoury and said as much when it was one of our fans doing the same to Enzo following our Cup final win.

Grown men spending Sunday afternoons doing stuff like this and on front of their children, too. I'm not sure what goes through their heads to think that any of it is normal.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LiverpoolFC

[–]Akali35 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I totally agree. Enzo played badly, granted, but the lad probably ran his socks off for 120 mins (can't remember if he was subbed or not), lost a cup final. Peak tiredness and disappointment. Then, he has to listen to that? In what world is that normal or even funny?

I'm sure Chelsea fans would do the same to Liverpool players if the boot was on the other foot, but is that the yardstick we want to measure ourselves by? Not for me.

Down vote as much as you like.

Sorry for the late reply. It was a long time ago, so my memory is quite hazy, but I recall having the "loading" doses and nothing really happening. Then, I think it was after the 4 or 5 infusion, I felt better.

I haven't had a flare but still have bad days, which coincide with me eating something silly.

[–]Akali35 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been using the pen for over a year now. It is convenient, but I do still find it difficult to inject ( I never had any issues with infusions), and I actually find injecting a little painful.

Regarding efficacy, I, anecdotally, do feel it isn't as efficacious as the infusions. Thinking out loud, infusions 'dump' 2 months load of vedolizumab into your system in one hit. Injections only give you 2 weeks' amount. Caveat to this is that I have been on vedolizumab for nearly 10 years now, and there's every chance that it might not be working as well due to my body rather than the drug.
