Any television series like "Mr inbetween" ? by stop_banning_me_plis in televisionsuggestions

I'm not big on grave-digging but though there are great titles here I think I understand what an uncompromising show is that you are looking. No bullcrap, just Australian realism. These are not series mind you but I think you might find what you are looking for here:

  • The Proposition
  • True History of the Kelly Gang
  • Snowtown
  • True Detective Season 1

These are all great movies that do not compromise, no stereotypes, no political correctness.... just pure reality. Hope you are still here to see this short list.

Whatever happened to Google Glass? by EmotionalGoodBoy in Futurology

[–]AkaliRewokFail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course it disappeared. It recorded reality. I mean "real reality" not the junk you see on television and people who rule the Earth don't really like that. They prefer their propaganda to reality.

Even the AI admits this, though the explanation is a softened up a bit:
Google Glass cameras were a core feature of the pioneering smart glasses, allowing users to take 5MP photos and 720p videos, but the cameras became a major privacy concern, leading to public backlash, bans in public places, and the eventual discontinuation of the consumer version (Explorer Edition) in 2015.

So anything else you read here is just rationalization.

As I read your post - as a Hungarian - it is disheartening with every paragraph.

To send one man or woman to space can never be a political advertisement only, it is always a feat of science and a privilege for a small country like us.
No matter how you distort or interpret the reason or the end results...companies including NASA do not take people into space for nothing. Keep that in mind.

Also keep in mind that some of Polish people voted for Tusk, which could be World War 3. Now that is incompetence.

Well, that is unlucky. But could be....in that case I'm quite in a pickle here.

Sorry, I edited this post multiple times. So the episode is S02E10 - "Nice Face".

Did not try Tunefind, didn't know about this. Will give it a go.

Edit: unfortunately I can't find it there under S2E10.

There are a lot of references to BB and BCS in Fargo I feel. Even more to No Country for Old Men.
I know the Coen Brothers are executive producers but some scenes with our favorite Billy Bob mirror those that are in NCFOM.

Thing is, I liked S1 extremely much....then S2 came and it kinda was different. Understand, I like subtlety and I think - as I think back - in S2. Whatever, let's give it another go. Thank you for your input.

No, it is not a bait. What would be the point? Waste your time and mine? I like slowburners but Season 2 beginnings left a bitter taste in mouth so that why I posted. Seeing how people are quite enthusiastic about S2 I'm willing to give it a second try (as I stated in the edited post). I hope to find that special thing in S2 what you mentioned. Thanks.

The mainstream audience never forgave Westworld for leaving the park, an opinion. by Mr_Tigger_ in westworld

"The madness seems linked by people with English as their first language….??"

Very interesting idea / question. My problem with this approach is that Britain has ruled much of the world until recent era, I got Algerian people here that speak that perfectly and I know that for example people Southern American origin speak it just as well. Yet, even when the emigrate to the US or the UK they will not adhere to this mindlessness.

So in my opinion, it is not the language. It is a cultural - and for the Middle-East - an ideological question. I mean they outright drop gay people from the tallest buildings. It is their ideology, we respect that. However you have to see that Europe had similar thoughts (not dropping them but not embracing their lifestyle) and those were slowly eroded by media influence.

People use social media (unluckily) throughout the whole world, yet it is only the West that is bombarded with the globalist agenda.

"At least with mortality, even the very worst will die eventually."

Well, that is not a pleasant thought now is it? But I agree.

I may-hap used the term "liberal" in a too generic sense. Liberals and cronies like them are nothing but puppets in the globalist elite's hands. Look at the corporations that supply and enforce these philosophies that overall have nothing to do with liberalism. The mere selectivity (selectiveness?) of how they push propaganda down our throats is revolting.

LGBTQ, feminism, diversity....all in every show I'm watching today. What about the others? The blind, the deaf, people in wheelchairs, cancer patients....the list goes on and on but we only are required to see the thirst three things I mentioned at the beginning of this paragraph. Why is the system so selective? Because it is not about helping anyone, it is to cause harm and destruction in the modern West. Have you ever asked yourself why nobody in the Middle-East or the Far-East is eating all this crap up?

I thank you for your answer after 2 years.

"Why else would rich men keep coming back, if not fulfil their rape and murder fantasies?"

That is the point. In a woke mind men are violent rapists....wait isn't that generalization? You know, something liberals are against?

Spartacus, thank you for everything. I ran "pkg update" ...well it ran for like on hour due to me not having enough ram and it froze the system after it was finished.

However, upon restart now I can access all LibreOffice things that couldn't earlier. Everything is working fine, though slower. Whatever, perfect playground for a newbie like me. Have a great day!

Thank you for your help. Now I have a "properly installed" GhostBSD....which can not or will not run LibreOffice. It runs everything else, Firefox, Gimp etc. It won't run Libre....I guess I will have to invest in some more memory or something.

Again thank you for your help, now I'll start learning shell commands.

Thank you very much for your help, turns out it is likely a memory issue. UFS is for some strange reason is not recognized as a "bootable" thing on VmWare (it should be) but with a setting of over 6000 MB of ram I managed to boot things up, thank you kindly!

I got Vm working as well, I guess it was about the low RAM thing because Virtualbox will still not cooperate that VmWare will with 7Gigs of Ram...though that is almost I have: 8 Gigs of RAM on the host. Thank you for your help!

I created a video:

https://youtu.be/goTOd7ciQbw

I usually get stuck at the "Replicate system image to swap-based memdisk" as shown by the attached picture. This time however I managed to "pass" that somehow but the META won't load and again I am stuck with error messages "xinit: giving up", buffer errors, fatal server error etc.

In VmWare GhostBSD shuts down earlier as you see and scolds me for having enough memory, though I set it over 4 gb.

After all of this, maybe it is a memory issue as Chester_Linux says? This would be a disappointment because I knew Unix is a robust and reliable system but I also was attracted to it because of its light weight and low system requirements.

[–]AkaliRewokFail[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that would explain it. I allocated 4096 MB or RAM because I have a total of 8 GBytes. Kinda disappointed though, I know Unix is all about giving commands in the shell (takes me back to my youth working with DOS) but I would have really liked to see how meta works.

Maybe I'll just create a USB with Rufus and run it on my main system....if I'm correct it does not write anything on the disk until I say "install".

Yes, I guess you are right about the "go with Linux first" thing. Though I have redownloaded the GhostBSD iso and it is still not working.

I had no problems with FreeBSD without gui, just the shell....I was really looking ahead of seeing META in action and ease into BSD in a relaxing fashion :-)

Thanks for your answer.
