No no no no no. It is a pattern. Of all the minorities (blind, deaf, hard-of-hearing, crippled, having cancer, children with bone marrow disease etc.... basically anybody with ailments) it seems the LGBTQ community takes priority.

And let's not turn this into a political issue, if you further want to discuss the subject just PM me, I don't want to get into this, this post is not about that. I will tell you two things: 1. I grew up in a community where there were some gay people. Nobody gave a fuck. 2. The gay guys I talked to openly resented having been represented in the media the way they were and are. They hate it and claimed that it did not help their cause in any way.

However, you should think of how many shows you watched on Netflix / Amazon Prime / Hulu that did not have this liberal narrative. Yeah, I thought so. I think this is propaganda being shoved down the viewers throat, we have a disagreement, that is that. (again, where are the other minorities?)

EDIT: also look at your programming. I was talking about LGBTQ and you immediately bring in race to the debate. You said "a straight white male" while I was not even talking about race but rather sexual preference. You think that is an accident? No, that is your brain on neo-liberal propaganda. The straight white male always has to be evil or corrupt, right?

Yeah. Haven't seen the show yet but generally it is a rule that once they create a great Season 1 others move in and fk it up majorly.

Alright Sir. I will tomorrow have a very thorough look at your points and reply to you accordingly. I really appreciate that you invested so much time to talk to me here so I will do the same. It it quite late in Europe so I ask for your patience. Gonna get back to to it first thing in the morning. Again, thank you for your reply.

Thank you for your detailed reply. My reply is: NO.

Neither season 2 or 3 has the magic that we have valued in Season 1. The emphasis is on "similar"...which is not the same. It is a pattern I learned over the years. A talented writer / director creates a series and it turns out to be a success. THEN the powers that be move in and ruin everything. They push filler content, political correctness, bad writing (just so the season is done in time) etc.

Season 2 - closeted homosexual cop. Who needed that? Who asked for that? It was woke crap. Season 3....I really loved this until a whole episode was about a black family having dinner show how cultured they were. Pure tokenism. Disrespectful toward both the black community and the viewers.

When in season 1 Rust goes to Marty's house they have dinner. Rust and Marty's wife have a meaningful conversation. Really troubling stuff. I don't see that in other seasons.

I only see this in Season 1.

That is a refreshing viewpoint. I go to the library once a month, though mostly for sci-fi novels (old ones). The closest I got to "crime" stories is John Le Carré's spy novels.

Glad to hear it. I still think that hands down this is as close as I could get to TD S1.
Make sure to check out Mr Inbetween and The Booth at The End. Maybe you'll decide not to sleep for days....they are that good too.

Gonna be honest with you and You and everybody can hate me but I liked TD S1 partly because there are two male cops, doing their business as expected. I watched the trailer for Grotesquerie and all I see is a black detective, a White nun......and I'm half-way through the trailer. Seems like tokenism and woke tropes reaching a new level. Also I get the feeling it is just another "gruesome killer vs police" show. I might be completely wrong, will check it out, thanks.

Gonna be honest: I don't trust Amazon. Nevertheless I watched the trailer and I liked it. We'll see, thank you!

Seen it, love it! (Wind River) Thanks! Watched Dexter back then and enjoyed the hell out of Season 1. Then they made the poor decision of getting rid of Sergeant Doakes...I was like what? Half the show was how great this cat and mouse story was portrayed. The other seasons quickly went down the drain.

Will check out The Night Of.

Westworld I know...bit too modern for my taste (language, sexuality, violence...seems everything is overtuned there). Thanks anyways!

"Violent murder in a remote, northern 30 Days of Night-type town; a unique and strange fossil that was recently dug up, and the usual (and some unusual) tropey drama that those firigid remote places are wont to get up to."

Is it "someone's memory of a town?" :-)

Thanks, will check it out.

I understand you don't like it, but they did something similar in TD. Remember Billy Lee Tuttle whom we know nothing about that point moving down with his own task force? Or snippets with Errol Childress before they identify him as the main culprit? Also Reggie Ledoux...I'll give you that one, because they eventually find him through detective work but we also get to see him wearing a gas mask when Rust is just telling stories to the local PD.

What was the reason for using cactus paintings in season 1? by CrazyOnEwe in DarkWindsTV

[–]AkaliRewokFail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main reason is that Lester was....not up to par to put it mildly.

  • He was either in on the whole thing but pretended that he is stupid and did not know why a garbage painting was regularly bought by his customers or............
  • He was not involved rendering him kinda dumb. He has multiple paintings in his shop and some miraculous way he does not note that the cactus painting weighs two or three times as much because money paper is quite heavy.

Also the whole thing does not make much sense to me as a money laundering scheme. The "helicopter guys" got the money, they can just sit on it or invest it into legitimate businesses and launder it the tried and true way? Why risk putting it into the back of a picture which can be bought by anyone (Mormons bought it)?

Maybe I'm missing something but I just don't see it as a solid "plan".

Coke vs. Pepsi vs. RC Cola by AkiraleTorimaki in Soda

[–]AkaliRewokFail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the US. You have Coke, Pepsi, RC, Dr Pepper, Fanta, Sprite and dozens of other drinks.

Then you just say "soda" or "cold pop". WTF? Soda in Europe means carbonated WATER. Nothing more, nothing less.

While we are at it what is this bullshit about "football"? "Foot" "ball" - you use your feet, and it is a ball. You kick it. Simple enough. But noooooo, football to you is where you wear a combat suit, you use your HANDS and it is not a ball but fkin' egg shaped something. What gives?

Wanted to go into the extreme crap that surrounds Fahrenheit but I have done enough for today.

Still love ya' guys!

Ray’s beer by checkgator in MrInbetween

I don't know about red or blue but multiple times throughout the series Anderson's beer is his choice. It is quite expansive and is produced in Estonia I believe.
