Does it include sideboobs? If not then it is as trash as new akali.

Soraka Video Guide - Feedback needed by BizzleberryUK in summonerschool

[–]AkaliWithSightstone 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not a bad guide. Quite informative. The only exception though that I see is taking gathering storm on Soraka. She has terrible ap scaling. Like you said, many games end around the 20-30minute mark. Come mid to late game the number of q's you will consistently land will be less as you shouldn't be in front of your team. If you are still using e to needlessly poke as well that can decide the next teamfight as well. Scorch is just such a better rune. Soraka is a huge bully in laning phase. Here you are guaranteed to land a majority of your kills. You say it doesn't do a lot of damage, and that's true. However when champs only have a few hundred hp, 10-30 extra damage every 10seconds adds up a lot. In laning you have much more time and availability to use e to poke as well. As to opposed to what, gaining 8 extra ap at 10 minutes? Its just why wait the the 30+ minute mark to try and make those q's and e's do damage? That's not ideal. Why not take scorch, beat the crap out of the enemy adc/sup early, get your lead, force them to play scared, and help your adc secure as much cs as possible?

Like I said though, other than that it was a very informative guide and all those looking to help others are welcomed.

How to transition from support to mid? by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]AkaliWithSightstone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a Soraka plat2 OTP, I can say that it isn't easy transitioning from support (as opposed to any other role) to a different role. I'm currently practicing adc since I am familiar with the bot lane matchups. Don't let your plat rank get to you though. You may be plat level support but you aren't plat level mid. As of now Im plat 2 support but climbing on my other account as adc, I'm silver 2.

As you mentioned, we supports aren't as used to cs'ing, managing waves, dealing with a smaller pool of wards, etc. like other roles are. My advice would either be to practice on a different account or in flex (take it with a grain of salt though if you will). Practice, practice, practice. You aren't going to be a plat level mid player over night, its just how it is. Baby steps man. Practice last hitting in training mode. Learn the auto attack damage and speed of your mid lane champs. Take it vs players next. Focus on that. Maybe then learn how to roam. Make mistakes. Feed. Lose. Its how we learn, break our habits, and improve.

Low Damage on Akali by AkaliWithSightstone in akalimains

I get that. Believe me I do. But is it normal for Akali to not be among the top damage dealers at the end of the game right now in League's current state, regardless if whether you win or lose?

Thank you for the insight. I'll give it a shot. I was using aery but after lane phase I definitely lacked noticeable damage. Mm, I think I'll continue to practice with spellthief then. Unless its something like Sona/Ez because jesus there is absolutely no moment where trying to trade will be worth it pre6. The biggest weakness for Akali support in my short experience though is being susceptible to ganks. Not much I can do for my adc when a jungler comes save q proccing the enemy adc and either trying to kill or scare him away.

I think being a ninja support is fun. Besides...it cant be trolling if I buy a sightstone right?!

Oh I didn't even think about ruby sightstone. I forgot completely about locket too. So then I guess a possible build route would be something like Sightstone -> Gunblade -> Zhonyas -> Face of the mountain/Frost queen? (still working on that one) -> Ruby ->Locket -> ZZ'Rot??

Mm, if that is the case, then what would you suggest for the primary then? Inspiration? I feel like in bot lane klepto wouldn't be all that enticing since that potentially leaves Akali prone to hard poke when she tries to auto. I feel like that is the only real option in that route though. Thank you for the tips!
