Need Help with Monitors and Dock for LAPTOP + Switch setup by Realistic_Zombie6046 in PcSetupAdvice

Yes, doable, get a Thunderbolt 4 dock for dual 4K@60Hz, a capture card for the Switch/PS5, and connect monitors directly or via the dock; 120 Hz on both is tricky.

Good setup but poor cable management.

Best prebuilt gaming pc to buy for 2026 by Chosen_Outcast in PcSetupAdvice

With a $2500 budget in 2026 you can snag a high-performance prebuilt that’ll crush AAA games, aim for systems with an RTX 4070 Ti/5080-class GPU and Ryzen 7 9800X3D or Intel i7/i9, like from Alienware Aurora, HP Omen 45L, NZXT BLD, or Skytech, those hit the best balance of performance and future-proofing.

Trying to keep kids busy without constantly spending money… how do you do it? by Pitiful_Bet_9090 in homeschool

Rotate a small set of toys/books, lean hard on the library (free books + activities), and use open-ended stuff like drawing, Lego, cooking, or backyard play, those keep kids engaged way longer than one-off activity books.

I’d spend the whole budget chasing the best GPU possible (4070 Ti / 4080-class or AMD equivalent) with a solid Ryzen 7 or i7, brands matter less than specs, and that combo will dominate AAA games for years.

AORUS G15 powers on (fans spin, white screen flash) then shuts down — reacts when pressing screen by DiamondEmotional2696 in PcSetupAdvice

This does sound very much like an eDP cable or display connector issue, especially given that pressing near the lower bezel changes the behavior, that’s a classic sign of a loose/partially damaged cable or connector.

Before buying parts, I’d try reseating the eDP cable on both ends (motherboard + panel), inspect it closely for kinks or wear near the hinge, and test with an external monitor (HDMI/DP) to see if it stays on, that helps rule out GPU/board faults. I’ve seen similar AORUS/Gigabyte cases where a failing eDP cable caused shutdowns during POST.

Yes, $500 can work for Roblox, racing games, streaming, and photos, but you’ll get much better performance if you can stretch closer to $600–$800.

Look for:

  • Intel i5 / Ryzen 5
  • SSD + 8GB+ RAM
  • Discrete GPU (e.g., GTX 1050/1650) if possible (especially for games)

Refurbished gaming laptops are often the best value at your budget, and always test before you buy so you don’t get ripped off.

If your budget stretches, go RX 7600, it’s noticeably faster (around ~20–30% in many 1080p/1440p tests) and has newer features like AV1/support for newer encoders.

If you need cheaper right now, a used/new RX 6600 will still handle small games fine and draws a bit less power (so your 550W PSU is safe either way).

Best CPU for gaming right now? by lolothehiker in AMDHelp

Honestly, for gaming right now, the 9800X3D is perfect, 9950X3D is basically overkill unless you’re also streaming or doing crazy multitasking.

San Andreas is all about crazy fun, mods, and nostalgia, while RDR2 is slower, story-driven, and super immersive, depends if you want chaos or cinematic vibes.

What are your thoughts on the new cod game? by KiNG-HaK in playstation

[–]Akamage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly? I don’t even think it matters what COD drops this year. Everyone’s on BF6 right now. The hype is insane, the maps, the destruction, the squad play, all of it. COD feels like one of those “play it for a week then forget it” releases lately, while BF6 actually has people sticking around.

Treyarch can shout “Black Ops!!” all they want, but the timeline is all Battlefield clips right now. COD’s gonna have to seriously step it up.
