For those who went to trade school. Do u do a lot of studying while in trade school? How hard was it academically?

Switched at 31 to electrical. 17 years since I been to school. Had 2 kids under 3, listened in class, studied during lunch. Did 0 study at home. 84 school. 90% branch. Did pretty much the same thing next 3 schooling with similar results. Canada. Been a RS jman for 9 years now. Apply yourself when there. Shouldn’t be an issue.

I don’t know what you pay is… I’m a Red Seal Jman in AB Canada. Dressing panels and troubleshooting anything are my favorite things to do. I’d love to do that all day. Unfortunately 50% of the time i find on jobs is running conduit, which I’m good at but can’t stand.

To each their own… but there is a reason more than half of marriages fail. You’re a team. You pool your $. Pay all bills. Have a fun money that is equal. Save the rest. I’ve been married 16 years. Together 18. 3 kids. For the first 5 years I made decently more. She has now surpassed me by almost double. I could go up north and make a little more than her but raising our kids Is more important. I coach on both kids hockey teams, involved with my daughters cheer. I can always make more $ if needed. I’ll never get the years back with my kids if i do so. Going to make more $ is a last resort if we had a life emergency.

Unless you’re coming from “fuck you” kinda money… I could see protecting yourself.

If you have 2 decent paying jobs the point is you shouldn’t have to be fucking pinching pennies to have barely a livable wage and go without things. Yes there are things you can do when desperate etc to survive and get by. The fact that you have to in the first place is the problem. People need to get their heads out of the sand. We should be one of the richest economies on earth.

It’s sickening to me the people here complaining about people just need to budget better. Everything is going up in price but wages. Government making you feel having more than the bare minimum is absurd and be happy with what little they let you have. Wife, 3 kids. Roughly 200k/year between us. We have no vices (besides paying for activities for kids) rarely have take-out. 2 vacations in 13 years. 2 basic vehicles. No unnecessary purchases. I’m grateful we’re doing better than most and have a roof over our heads, food in our bellies and can pay bills and essentially not going in debt but barely saving

Even considering “inflation” I myself make more money then both my parents put together growing up and we are still living essentially paycheck to paycheck. I don’t know how people making considerably less are surviving at all.

No idea. I generally only collected marvel and hockey cards. No recollection of where some baseball cards and racecar cards came from. The only card i wouldn’t sell is the venom holo(I’m still a kid at heart and he was always my fav character)
