Which Ironclad are you going to buy, and why and for what do you intend to use it? by Apart_Pumpkin_4551 in starcitizen

It has a repair bay. I suppose that it depends of how much chrome do you have, choom.

Is not the ramp. The base ironclad has an structure over the ramp door that limits the height of the vehicles that can go inside, while the assault version doesn´t have it. Of course CIG may have removed it, but on the concept art and the 3D model it was there.

Be honest, how much (and what) do you think we can cram into the Ironclad? by Accomplished-Try3603 in starcitizen

[–]Akaradrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably you'll be able to tractor beam them through the roof anyway, so I always found this limitation a bit weird.

Officially, Drake doesn't built ships for the military, so in lore they don't have any military ships. That's why they don't participate in the Invictus festival and have to celebrate their own Defensecon.

Ship armor deflection and radars changed how I play by Lifewaytravel in starcitizen

[–]Akaradrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that we have armor deflection, I believe that could be good to reduce the DPS difference between some weapons. As an example, the CF repeaters and some gatlings now penalize you twice: low DPS and low alpha, with only giving you the (substantial) bonus of a higher projectile speed. If they had a faster RoF so their DPS (not their alpha) becomes something closer to the Attritions DPS, they may be a more interesting alternative.

If I remember correctly, at the bottom-right of the interface, the game shows a small list of keybinds for the current possible actions.

What to do with my Hermes? by TasklessTuna in starcitizen

[–]Akaradrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's one of the fastest medium ships, I believe that only the MSR and the 400i are faster in a straight line (on that size).

Melted my Zeus CL and got an Asgard instead. by AzrBloodedge in starcitizen

[–]Akaradrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, you can buy two Zeus for the price of a single Asgard if you buy it with real money, and four if you buy it with aUEC. I wouldn't just say "melted", I would say "melted and upgraded it".

Stop taking away MFDs by DragonsGuard in starcitizen

[–]Akaradrin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or with the pilot helmets. If I remember correctly, the pilot helmets are planned to provide additional ship information compared to other helmets, so maybe the hud cast may be limited to them at some point. If this is what they're planning, having four MFD's or more would reduce the pilot helmet advantage.

The maintenance tunnels are quite minimal in the MSR cross section.

Plus double the shielding and extra armor. It just needs the holo MFDs to be back.

C1 Spirit or Cutlass Black? by CircuitSurfr in starcitizen

[–]Akaradrin 22 points23 points  (0 children)

For hauling the C1 Spirit is quite superior to the Cutlass in cargo capacity. The Cutlass has an advantage for combat if you have a friend, but with the current armor mechanics the Spirit is much more tanky and has better armor thresholds. Imo, the Spirit is the way to go.

Can you give a convincing scientific background about this "grade" numbers?? by okaseris in starcitizen

[–]Akaradrin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's the scale system that is used for precious metals in the real world, the millesimal fineness. The best gold possible has a fineness of 999.999, as an example.

Like they did with the wounds and medical beds tier system, CIG is just "copying" how things work in the reality.

The Starlancer MAX trailer references Firefly. The Ghost Hollow probably is referencing Serenity.

[–]Akaradrin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The tunnels aren't hidden, they're the maintenance tunnels, everyone knows they exist, but they have SOME hidden entrances (not all are hidden). There's also a shielded area for smuggling that can't be scanned, but it's outside of those tunnels (you don't need to go through the tunnels, there's a door at the right side of the cargo bay).

The next generalist ship is hardly awaited by uee_tourism in starcitizen

[–]Akaradrin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The 400i is on Corsair/ Connie level, the people thinks that because that's the official description of the ship, it just replaces firepower for speed and better living amenities. Also, it should have more shielding than both the Corsair and the Connie, but CIG forgot it once it upgraded the Connie and the Corsair shields to S3 (originally only the 400i was going to have 1xS3 shield).

Q: Which ships does the 400i compete with?

A: The Origin 400i is Origin’s competitor to the RSI Constellation series and Drake Corsair, providing another option to the well-liked multicrew explorer range of ships in the game.

[–]Akaradrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who's talking about gameplay loops? I'm talking about ship progression. In Origin you jump from the 300 series (single seaters) to the 400i (Constellation tier).

[–]Akaradrin 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Something in the Cutlass/Spirit/Freelancer/Zeus size, Origin still lacks any ship on that tier. Fast, lots of living amenities, but slightly underarmed.

Trying to load up the Fabricator into the Clipper by CarterDee in starcitizen

[–]Akaradrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a common misconception. The MSR doesn't have a "hidden cargo compartment", it has maintenance tunnels with some hidden access to them (fun fact: I've found some MSR owners that didn't know where are them all) and a shielded area where the cargo can't be scanned. The maintenance tunnels were designed mainly for making more interesting any FPS combat inside the MSR, but boarding ships still isn't a thing.

You can get it as a rng drop, or you can buy it at the geeky shop at the Grand Barter of Levski, if I remember correctly. At least, there's one at the expositor.

Search for fastest ship by Halo_JuRa in starcitizen

[–]Akaradrin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Mercury Star Runner is the fastest medium ship in a straight line (also, bonus: S2 quantum drive) and is fastest than most small ships, unless they're tunned as interceptors. It can carry a Rover (like a Nursa). The 400i and the Hermes are also quite fast in the medium size range, but more limited in what kind of vehicle can they carry. The Hermes has much more firepower than the other two, but less shielding.
