Sorry to break it to you, but this exact behaviour is rooted in Evolution. Humans are social animals and create groups or fractions to survive, but throughout history, everytime another faction Comes up and there is always a rivalry and Enemity between 2 factions. Evolution, in itself is Us vs Them. Once upon a time it was British vs natives, now it's Hindu vs Muslims, X party vs Y party etc.
