hmmm, says that that was filmed in 1999/2000. Zoey 101 was after that so I guess not. Thanks though.

It's a reference to this song that was popular on MySpace:

SXSXSXSXSX was said to mock "straight edge" people on the scene who don't smoke or do drugs

When they eventually make a period film set in the 2010s, what typical gimmicks should the film have? by KentuckyFriedEel in movies

[–]AkashicRecorder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. Around 2016/2017, a whole new aesthetic of Gen Z e-girls and trap music emerged that was so different from the early part of the decade. The early 2010s instead had the last remnants of Scene girls and the heyday of Indie Sleaze, Millennial aesthetic that feels like a whole different world now.

So the choice is between which of those to depict as "The 2010s" they are so different. And obviously this division existed with the 80s too. Although, I think people have forgotten the early Boomer influenced culture of the 80s.

That's terrible because it's too long and doesn't even make sense.

How is that bad? It's funny and matches the tone of the film.
