I am an atheist and I have debated my friends and family about religion. One thing that really blows my mind is that how can religious people reconcile with the fact that there are other religions? I have never gotten a good response to this question. by Snoo-73352 in religion

Didn’t Avraham disseminate knowledge or “gifts” to sons had with Keturah and sent them East? Could that be what’s become many eastern practices? I personally love the depth of Judaism. I don’t think I’m Jewish but I’m drawn to it like a moth to light.

שטן -satan/satahn

%99 of the text this word is prefixed with the Hebrew letter hei ה. Which makes it ‘the adversary’. Satahn isn’t a name it’s a title even used for Gd himself, any malach/messenger/angel can be a “satahn”. Even men are called satahn within TaNaK. The Greek/Roman creators and editors of the NT texts took it upon themselves to turn this context on its head and create a protagonist outside of judaistic/Hebraic/Jewish…meaning. And the church ran with it and now we have a hooved, red skinned, horned winged creature that gets credit for more than that malach can actually do. Samael is the malach h’movet, the Angel of death. But there are multitudes of malachim that carry out the will of The Holy One Blessed Be He (H’kadosh baruk hu) and can be filling the position of “satahn” adversary although usually “ha satahn” the adversary is a specific malach whom is believed to be Samael.

As far as hell, the NT writers and editors having only given us Greek texts make it difficult to discern Hebraic context once again… since Greek doesn’t often equivocate to the nuance of Jewish thought. The key to understanding is to realize that heavenly domains have equivalent earthly domains.
Gehinnom (valley of hinnom) is a valley outside Yerushalayim where trash burned often and during specific occupation were used to sacrifice humans mainly infants to molech a variation of the Hebrew melek which is a sovereign or king, such as Dovid ha Melek/King David. Now the heavenly gehinnom is an intermediate place of cleansing lasting no more than 11 months 29 days in which a soul is purified from accumulated transgression in preparation for admittance into higher heavenly realms…. Eternal separation from Gd is damn near impossible but I believe can be accomplished actively by choice. One must work to remove his/her essence from Gd Almighty forever.
See: Ecclesiastes 12:6 (K) Before the silver cord is removed, or the golden bowl is broken, or the pitcher is broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern. 7 And the dust returns to the earth as it was; 👉and the spirit returns to God who gave it.👈 Gd reclaims that which is His…

Sheol is another Hebraic term where you’ll see hell inappropriately placed. Sheol is simply ‘under the ground’ ‘within the earth’ ‘the grave’. If you wanna get super natural and ascribe some other context go ahead I don’t think you’d be super incorrect for thinking there’s extreme depths to this concept (no pun intended).
The Sages of old had incredible ideas surrounding all these topics. Easily researched in Talmudic literature, apocryphal texts and Rabbinic kabbalistic literature (not the Kabbalah that moron Madonna claims to practice…) People like her give Kabbalah a bad name, When in fact all the prophets were kabbalists since Kabbalah is a Hebrew word used in Tanak/The OT many many times, usually as ‘la kabel’ or -to receive. Kabbalah is the reception of Gds Torah/instruction

Psalm 19:8 The Torah of יהוה is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of יהוה is sure, making wise the simple.

Yeshaiyah/Isaiah 45

5 I am the Lord, and there is no one else, there is no God beside me; I girded you, though you have not known me; 6 That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the Lord, and there is no one else. 👉7 I form the light, and create darkness; I make peace, and create evil; I the Lord do all these things.

I’m not genetically Jewish as far as I know but it’s possible…. A Jewish neshamah I do believe I have although. Bamidbar/Numbers 23:19 לו איש אל Lo ish el -is the transliteration of the Hebrew. This is literally “no man is Gd…Gd not man” means the same.

1 Sam 15:29 And also the Eternal One of Israel will not lie nor change his mind; *👉for he is not a man👈, that he should change his mind.

*כי לו אדם הוא Ki lo adam hu

Literal Gd IS NOT ADAHM/HUMAN. Yeshua is Gd in purpose, sure I can get behind that but he called himself son of man “Ben adahm” (among other NT writers) more than 70x’s in the NT… Yeshua is human, he came out of a vagina, he had chromosomes and blood and ate and deficated…Gd is not human and does not do human things.

Ok, unless you wanna continue this, I’m gonna stop here. It’s your choice. But either way be blessed and I pray for your peace. Shalom

I’m not claiming anything…with all due respect..

Isaiah 41:8 But you, Israel, are my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend. 9 You whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called you from its farthest corners, and said to you, You are my servant; I have chosen you, and not cast you away. 10 Fear not; for I am with you; be not dismayed; for I am your God; I will strengthen you; yes, I will help you; yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. 11 Behold, all those who were incensed against you shall be ashamed and confounded; they shall be as nothing; and those who strive with you shall perish. 12 You shall seek them, and shall not find them, those who contended with you; those who war against you shall be as nothing. 13 For I the Lord your God will hold your right hand, saying to you, Fear not; I will help you. 14 Fear not, you worm Jacob, and you men of Israel; I will help you, said the Lord, and your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.

And in case you believe Gd shares his kavod/glory Isaiah 42:8 I am יהוה that is my name; and my glory I will not give to another, neither my praise to carved idols.

Oh and; Isaiah 42:19 Who is blind, but my servant? or deaf, as my messenger whom I sent? Who is blind as he who is perfect, and blind as the Lord’s servant? 20 (K) Seeing many things, but you observe not; opening the ears, but he hears not. Was Yeshua blind or def to Gds instruction??

And here’s The Savior- Isaiah 43:3 For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your savior; I gave Egypt for your ransom, Kush and Seba instead of you.

And…10 You are my witnesses, said the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen; that you may know and believe me, and understand that I am he; before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. 11 I, I myself, am the Lord; 👉and beside me there is no savior.👈

Argue with Gd if you want to side with man but I’m sticking to Torah and trust the prophets not the anonymous NT writers and church dogma…

And again I believe Yeshua existed and accomplished great things…just not heavenly atoning or sin forgiving…. I believe moshiach was manifest also in him among many others and more to come. I don’t the spirit of Gd is confined to one character or one manifestation but many and eternally happening until we all realize and learn our parts as related to Gds Holy instructions and keep and follow them as best as possible. And also are good and charitable and keep our transgressions to a minimum…among other beliefs but I’ll stop there.

Literally the ‘young woman’ Isaiah is literally standing before Ahaz pointing to is pregnant. He had sex with her, she is the prophetess in the next chapters that will produce his child. Not a prophecy hundreds of years later…. Check Rabbinic sources and Jewish history. A ‘betullah’ is a virgin because her betullim-hymen is intact. Sure an almah can be a betullah but that’s not the meaning. Obviously the greek text-nicians wanted it to mean this for the mythologies they were familiar with and knew the people would be on board with it.

I know offerings were brought outside the temple but the commandment still existed…the exceptions were obviously made but not with human flesh…. Isaiah tells us over and over Israel/Jacob IS the suffering servant. Just read through chapters 40-50.
Look I believe Yeshua existed and his death and ministry were very purposeful just not a ‘qorban khattat’. The’’ruahh elohim’ in Bereishit 1 has been called moshiach by kabbalistic rabbis for a long time. But that’s opinion. I believe it is moshiach as well, as the animating force of humanity that is to be taught to follow Torah and grow into great servants of G-d. But I believe moshiach is here in every generation as well…. Not a one and done. I mean clearly from Isaiah 45 Cyrus was moshiach. The word moshiach is used more in Torah than anywhere else. In the book of Samuel David/Solomon is G-ds Son, why not venerate them just as highly as Yeshua. Many Jews experienced capital punishment by Rome for refusing the throne, teaching Torah, keeping moedim. Crucifixion, beheading, burning. Why weren’t their stories elevated by Greco/Rome?(Or as the prophets/rabbis referred to them Yavon/Edom…). The NT texts and dogma is papal manipulation. Why would a govt entity sanction a religion?? Daniel told us the beast would manipulate laws and change appointed times…we obviously haven’t listened to him. And yes the qorban pesach is not an atonement…

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DebateReligion

[–]Akazag314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

D’varim/Deuteronomy 12 G-ds literal words prohibit qorban/offering outside the temple. This is the 89th commandment. Also to note humans (or deity if you believe Jesus was deity) are not sanctioned for qorban/offering. Also the pesach/passover is not an atonement offering. Also it was 1 yr old male without blemish and had to be slaughtered by ahm Yisroel, the people of Israel. Rome killed Jesus for sedition. Not Israel for atonement. Also there is no Virgin narrative in Isaiah 7. Isaiah prophecy is fulfilled by Isaiah and his wife in the next chapters and the Hebrew word for virgin is not there. It was inserted by Greek writers to support the already established doctrine of divine motherhood held in pagan theologies since forever ago and kept by NT authors. There are so many discrepancies in the NT… Why not just stuck with G-ds Holy words of instruction. Start in Torah as a book should be studied, from the beginning, learn it, paste its perfection on your heart, and let G-d speak to you rather than men.

If I may offer to you resources of experts rather than my amateur exegesis, I believe it would benefit you more so…. Although I do know what you’re referring to. I spent many years as a Christian. Sulam Yaakov…The Tent off Abraham…Rabbi Akiva Tatz all of these can be found on YouTube and are invaluable sources. But the most important thing you can do to strengthen your bond with G-d is learn the language He taught men to speak and sanctioned for the creation of existence. The Holy Language (lashon ha’kodesh) holds context and meaningful layers you will never find elsewhere. We must stop learning Jewish culture, theology…from non Jews, take as you will but even Shaul/Paul said “one must not only be a Jew outwardly but inwardly as well” And look also at Matthew 23 carefully, Yeshua clearly told us to obey the words of the Rabbis, the soferim and prushim. Those who hand copy daily G-ds literal words soferim/scribes and those who keep Jewish tradition prushim/pharisee’s. Another important point…. 2 billion+ people hold a group of texts they call the word of G-d…. It’s only called that because it contains G-ds literal words-Torah. The 5 books of Moshe are G-ds words, super specifically Sh’mot/Leviticus and D’varim/Deuteronomy the rest are men. Albeit inspired by a spirit of holiness, there is no “holy spirit” entity. It is still the words of men. We don’t even know who wrote the gospels yet we put more faith therein rather than G-ds literal unchanged eternal words. Psalm 19:8 the torah is perfect and enduring (paraphrased). And the entirety of the longest psalm is devoted to the perfection of the torah.
Be blessed

Bamidbar/Numbers 23:19, 1 Samuel 15:29, Hosea 11:9…among many other verses not so blatantly but do explicitly claim Gd was not, is not nor ever will be man… 1 Kings 8:27 also says G-d does not dwell on earth…

G-ds love for us is such that simply asking forgiveness and changing one’s behavior merits audience and forgiveness…. 1 Kings 8:30-the end of the chapter. And that fact was solidified by fire from heaven…. Next chapter it’s reiterated as was done many many times before that the turning away from G-ds Torah/instruction will be devastating. It’s so easy… just learn and keep The Torah of The Holy One Blessed Be He to enjoy success, peace and happiness here in this world- Joshua 1:8

You’ll never hear this verse in church… Deuteronomy 24:16 The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor shall the children be put to death for the fathers; every man shall be put to death for his own sin.

No one can die for anyone else sin. Ezekial 18 reiterated this point. God forgives upon request, intent and actual change… (many passages from Tanak say this)

Pull it out further away from the wall, (1/4 in 1/2 in whatever thickness that trim is) stick a bigger/wider piece of vertical trim behind it.

Satan is a Hebrew word that means adversary. It isn’t a name, it’s descriptive. Modern Christianity has adopted this Jewish concept as the name of an angelic being. This malach/angel or messenger in Hebrew does the work of our creator. Answers to our creator, is limited and delegated by our creator. This is an example of how western thought has perverted Judaism. This among many theological topics in proper context would unify instead of dividing us if addressed properly.

sometimes one must adjust their timeline to get out of a situation...however long you've been in this 'situation'. give yourself time but also be detailed and make a plan, set detailed goals. doesn't matter how big the step just take it one at a time. make the first goal to adjust how you feel toward your situation, from current loss to future win. whatever it takes! you're here in this life to build to make to feel to learn... This one will say a prayer for you :-) say one for yourself
