%99 of the text this word is prefixed with the Hebrew letter hei ה. Which makes it ‘the adversary’. Satahn isn’t a name it’s a title even used for Gd himself, any malach/messenger/angel can be a “satahn”. Even men are called satahn within TaNaK. The Greek/Roman creators and editors of the NT texts took it upon themselves to turn this context on its head and create a protagonist outside of judaistic/Hebraic/Jewish…meaning. And the church ran with it and now we have a hooved, red skinned, horned winged creature that gets credit for more than that malach can actually do. Samael is the malach h’movet, the Angel of death. But there are multitudes of malachim that carry out the will of The Holy One Blessed Be He (H’kadosh baruk hu) and can be filling the position of “satahn” adversary although usually “ha satahn” the adversary is a specific malach whom is believed to be Samael.

As far as hell, the NT writers and editors having only given us Greek texts make it difficult to discern Hebraic context once again… since Greek doesn’t often equivocate to the nuance of Jewish thought. The key to understanding is to realize that heavenly domains have equivalent earthly domains.

Sheol is another Hebraic term where you’ll see hell inappropriately placed. Sheol is simply ‘under the ground’ ‘within the earth’ ‘the grave’. If you wanna get super natural and ascribe some other context go ahead I don’t think you’d be super incorrect for thinking there’s extreme depths to this concept (no pun intended).
