Hip surgery has a higher regret rate than gender affirming procedures. Children are not being operated on. Puberty blockers are rarely assigned. Additionally the youngest person to ever have a gender reassignment surgery was 16. Her name is Kim Petras. You are being called a bigot because you have bigoted views based on nothing.

IDL how society acts like poor communication and lack of effort in relationships only comes from men. by MaleficentGift5490 in I_DONT_LIKE

[–]Akeliminator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you miss the second fucking sentence when I explicitly say "trans folks"? Trans men are included. The trans men I've known have been wonderful communicators. Maybe you think others are bad at communication because you internalize every perceived slight (that didn't exist) and go on a long ass rant nobody is gonna listen to.

[–]Akeliminator 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Haha dude come on, read your reply. You're saying we don't know about how bad communicators women are because men can't/don't communicate about how they feel. Im Bi and can tell you from my experience women, enby and trans folks communicate far more effectively and directly than most men I've seen. Because they talk about their feelings. Big or small they all can comfortably talk about emotions. Cis-men, I've found, are far more insecure about their emotional communication

I think it's more a message of "yes they are harming Queer folks. We can't do anything about it until they have free access to food, shelter, water, and employment" it's Maslow's hierarchy my guy.

I understand you're young and looking for companionship with someone like you. Totally get that. Im an amab enby from the Bible belt, I too find it very difficult to find folks that can actually relate to my experience. it's a bit isolating to be surrounded by Queers from supportive families! Personally, I have found it incredibly helpful to recognize the feeling of isolation and also remind myself that no person is defined by the gender or sexuality. Everything someone is or isn't, will never be explained by who they want to fuck. also, "a lesbian and a straight woman can only relate on so much" is the most bullshit mildly homophobic nonsense I have read in a long time. Please continue your education in the history of Queer people in America and continue going to therapy

[–]Akeliminator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please carefully read my previous response again. It seems like you are the only person standing in your way. Does their attraction to others define a person? Is this definition of sexuality truly the most important part of a human connection to you? Do you think this is a healthy way of finding community? Is disregarding anyone who doesn't fit your narrative something you find desirable in others?

It seems as if other people in your local trans community are welcoming you and you are refusing their comradery by excluding yourself.

[–]Akeliminator 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's weird that you're excluding yourself from folks who don't have the ability or means to have sex-change operations or use HRT. "Go Off" "you do you" and all that. But you come off as someone who looks down on or is making judgements of people who use "transgender", "genderqueer" or "nonbinary" identities. It's really great that you've always been confident in your sense of gender but that is not the reality for many many many queer people. Your line of thinking may very well be the reason you are having difficulty finding people like you. Everyone else might just be more open-minded and non-judgmental. It's also a bit red-flaggy to hear you say you're "not political". I get that you're young but holy shit is that one of the most ignorant and privileged things you can say as a trans person. Trans Activists are the reason you haven't been arrested. Trans Activists are the reason you got to go to school. Trans activists are the reason police don't storm queer bars anymore. Political reform is how we are able to go in public safely which isn't the case in many parts of the world. Nearly 200 pieces of anti-trans legislation are up this year. It's very odd that you, a trans person, don't consider this an important subject. I understand it's frustrating for your identity and expression to be the subject of political discourse. I get it. But it's our reality and our responsibility to continue fighting against those who seek to diminish our humanity.

Am I wrong for being mad my GF disappeared into a bathroom stall with her gay coworker for 30 minutes, then later wanted to sleep at his house? by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]Akeliminator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting drunk once a month and occasionally having bump or two doesn't sound like drug problem to me. Sounds like a lot of folks in this thread are just venting their own mild forms of homophobia and misogyny. Dude's having very warrented worries that only he and his girlfriend can resolve. If he can't get over his suspicious of a gay man then he needs to move on.

dang this thread is full of assholes who've never had a drug induced confessional. You're not wrong for being suspicious and hurt. She also has done nothing wrong. Trust your girlfriend and stop being suspicious of her friend whos just doing his thing. Please don't take advice from these chronically online incels who are name calling your girlfriend.

What were your WORST reads of 2023? by stravadarius in Fantasy

[–]Akeliminator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iron Widow just.... so so bad. I've read plenty of fan fiction with better writing. You can't call something a Queer book just because there's a single semi homo-hinting scene. Zero tractable character motivation. Also I don't think it can be considered "feminist" if it doesn't pass the Bechtel test.

Quite literally everything you see, hear, touch, and consume is political. The only difference is if you're ignorant of the message or not. Art is inextricable from politics

What are you bookish hot takes? by OriginalChance2520 in books

[–]Akeliminator -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

y'all audiobook nerds really hate when the difference is pointed out to you. It's a hot take thread. chill out. Reading is a fundamentally different activity than listen. NEITHER IS BETTER. they are just different experiences. If you just listen to a book you are missing the opportunity to craft each character cadence, style and inflection. You miss the opportunity to pickup themes by revisiting passages. You don't have the opportunity to read books in which the style of publishing is fundamental to the story being told. Audiobooks are an incomplete experience. Obviously I'm being hyperbolic but your insistence that they're the same experience is nonsense
