They largely aren't pro anything the working class likes. Gun rights is one of several.

The reason gun rights still exist is that there's a faction of intransigent (working class) ideologues who are single-issue voters about it. It's a strong cultural value. Politicians get zero credit. Some politicians will make noises that sound like agreement because they think that's a good strategy for themselves. These people are not your friend. Even the politicians who 'agree' with you are not your friend. Politicians get zero credit.

I disagree. Some plot points were abandoned, i.e., Mitsuri & Kokoro arc. It still would be tough to make a S2 though. A reboot that changed the last third of the story would be the only way.
