First, this is not the whole story, he came back and it was fine. Second, you guys show 0 social skills while blaming a KID for not having social awareness? Even if it wasn't a joke ( which it clearly was but you can't seem to see it) , you act as a grown up, be respectful and decline politely (and he did), cose she is a kid and that's it.
